Look, you're talking to a huge JJ Wetherholt fan. I've been talking about extending the guy before he takes an MLB AB. I know he's a stud. And what he has done so far at AAA is ridiculous.

I'm just saying, that park, and that league as a whole, is pretty friendly to offense. We've seen it before.

Agreed, that's why the only way he should be brought up is if Winn, Gorman or Saggese go on the IL (in addition to Dononvan & Arenado staying there), or if Saggese gets demoted. And I think there's virtually no chance Saggese gets demoted even though it's definitely what I'd do.
Why not call up Wetherholt after the Memphis season ends. What else would he be doing? Just have him around the club and get a few ABs.
They should at least do that but AAA doesn't end until 9/21, like 1 week before MLB.
Interesting, that isn't very much time. We often overthink these things as fans. But It sure seems to me like having him ride this momentum straight to St Louis, even for just a few ABs rather than just sitting all offseason before seeing St Louis would be meaningful for him.

If they're going to roster him anyway for just a week, they should do it now and Mo should make it explicit to Oli that he plays every day... demote either Fermin or Saggese (I'd do Saggese just so he continues to get reps).

It's the best thing for JJ's development (and his 2026) that he see some MLB pitchers this year. Kinda insane that this apparently needs to be explained to the FO suits.

This is literally the only reason not to bring him up that makes any sense

Except it is fixed by a simple order from Mo that Oli play JJ every day.

So Mo either doesn't want to give Oli that order, or he doesn't trust Oli to follow the order. Both scenarios are very problematic.

Oli didn't follow that order with Walker last year if you remember. Thus, Mo sent Walker back to Memphis so he could play.

Great point basil

He'd go 4 for 5 w/a HR and the idiot manager would sit him the next day. ::crazya::
Yep. Marmol absolutely kills this team with his ignorance and stupidity. Incompetence at its finest!

Zero reason he shouldn't be up here like Masyn Winn was. ZERO. If he falters a little, it will be experience he puts in his bag. If he excels, great. Either way, he will better for it. Plus the team would be better for it too!

Bring JJ up.

Winn SS
Wetherholt 2B
Saggese/Gorman 3B
Contreras 1B
Burleson LF
Church CF
Walker RF
Pages/Pozo C
Herrera DH

Noot can rotate in the OF.
Fermin can sit most of the time.
Hampson can be cut loose.
Rotate DH some if you need to.

THIS ISN'T HARD AT ALL!!!!!!!!

If he's brought back next season because he has one year left on his contract and because BDWJr is going to slash payroll (again!), then Dewitt can expect crowds like we had last night...........more record LOW ATTENDANCE.

I feel bad for C. Bloom if Dewitt saddles him w/Oli and slashes payroll. :x

I agreed with you on the park -- 7th in league OPS and 3rd in runs.
Springfield is also a hitter's park.
So we can skew the numbers he has down a bit.
Ever since the pre-draft scouting report on Statcast that: "Wetherholt might be the best pure hitter in the class, and there are some area scouts who think he's the best amateur bat they've ever seen" - I've been jacked, and he hasn't done anything at any level that has reduced that excitement.
But...
I was pre-MLB high on Walker and Gorman as power bats we sorely needed, so don't listen to me.
