Wetherholt faced Chris Sale 2 nights ago
He went 2 for 2 with a double.
He is now hitting .328/.413/.648 with 9 HR's and 20 RBI's in 122 AB's in Memphis.
Clearly, AAA is a joke for him.
Bring the stud up now.
Give the fans a taste of what's to come.

Memphis is a launching pad, so I try not to get fooled when guys go in there and put up crazy offensive numbers. Springfield is pretty good for offense as well.
All that said, it's crazy how good he looks.

How can it be a launching pad for doubles?Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 08:31 am Memphis is a launching pad, so I try not to get fooled when guys go in there and put up crazy offensive numbers. Springfield is pretty good for offense as well.

I am trying to remember all of the 40 and 50 home run guys that came through that Memphis launching pad.

If I were to ignore all of the context issues (40-man, Bloom vs Mo) about bringing him up, I'd say there's no downside, probably only upside in getting him at least a few MLB at-bats this season. In a vacuum.
If it's 40-man spots you're worried about just drop Hampson.

The only reason I don't want him up is because Marmol would f up his rhythm. If he comes up, he has to play every day.
Marmol will play him in spurts, sit him after a good day, etc. He has no clue how to run this team at the field level.

Nobody on this team has rhythm to worry about

Re: Wetherholt faced Chris Sale 2 nights ago
Agreed, that's why the only way he should be brought up is if Winn, Gorman or Saggese go on the IL (in addition to Dononvan & Arenado staying there), or if Saggese gets demoted. And I think there's virtually no chance Saggese gets demoted even though it's definitely what I'd do.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 09:18 am The only reason I don't want him up is because Marmol would f up his rhythm. Memphis is a good hitters' park but JJW is still 133 points ahead of any other player on the roster in OPS with more than 100 ABs. It's unusual for a 2b/ss to lead the team in OPS, much less by that much -- and be very good at baserunning and defense.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 08:31 am Memphis is a launching pad, so I try not to get fooled when guys go in there and put up crazy offensive numbers. Truth is, he does not play every day with Memphis.....Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 09:18 am The only reason I don't want him up is because Marmol would f up his rhythm. If he comes up, he has to play every day.

Obviously, I don't mean he wouldn't get a day off. But he should be playing 4-5 games in a row and not sitting after a good day at the plate.12xu wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 10:22 amTruth is, he does not play every day with Memphis.....Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 09:18 am The only reason I don't want him up is because Marmol would f up his rhythm. He'd go 4 for 5 w/a HR and the idiot manager would sit him the next day.

Why not call up Wetherholt after the Memphis season ends. What else would he be doing? Just have him around the club and get a few ABs.3dender wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 09:27 amAgreed, that's why the only way he should be brought up is if Winn, Gorman or Saggese go on the IL (in addition to Dononvan & Arenado staying there), or if Saggese gets demoted. They should at least do that but AAA doesn't end until 9/21, like 1 week before MLB.imadangman wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 10:39 amWhy not call up Wetherholt after the Memphis season ends.
