Re: Could Wetherholt be a MOTO hitter?
Wetherholt to me looks like he could hit 1, 2, or 3.
Herrera would be nice batting 5th, if you had good enough hitters to push him down. Same with Burleson, 5th or 6th.

Re: Could Wetherholt be a MOTO hitter?
The more Herrera plays, the more I am reminded of Jose Martinez as a hitter. Good hitter but maybe more of a contact and doubles hitter. The 3 HR game may not be the norm.

Herrera could push Burleson to sixth. Guess we will find out, hopefully with a new manager. I wish we had three Wetherholts, two right handed and the current model. That would be an amazing top three and Herrera could lead the league in RBI following that.imadangman wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:29 pmYes?MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:26 pmimadangman wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:20 pm Wetherholt to me looks like he could hit 1, 2, or 3.

Re: Could Wetherholt be a MOTO hitter?
Yeah that's more like it. I'd have Wetherholt and Donovan both in the top 3 next year (I'd have them 1-2). 3 and 4 is harder to figure out. It does seem like we will need some bats from outside the organization. Will Baez be good enough to bat 2nd or 3rd, that's a big question.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:33 pmHerrera could push Burleson to sixth. Guess we will find out, hopefully with a new manager. Baez is only 21 and needs AAA before making the jump. He has just started to figure it out. They need not rush him, he will be ready to go when the team takes the next step in 27. Re: Could Wetherholt be a MOTO hitter?
Correct and I was corrected on that the other day. He should be in St Louis about this time next year, at the earliest.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:41 pmBaez is only 21 and needs AAA before making the jump. Re: Could Wetherholt be a MOTO hitter?
You do realize Wetherholt has zero MLB ABs. You might want to hold off on the lofty praise until he actually establishes himself at the MLB level. But he does look really good at the AAA level.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:33 pmHerrera could push Burleson to sixth. Guess we will find out, hopefully with a new manager. Re: Could Wetherholt be a MOTO hitter?
You do realize when the 40 man roster crunch thing ends for him he steps right in as the best hitter this team has. Have you not watched him play? He screams hitter. Also an athlete, who can run, field, and throw.Shady wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:54 pmYou do realize Wetherholt has zero MLB ABs. Stick your neck out, for a change, and tell us if you feel Burleson is capable of getting at least 85 RBIs with Wetherholt hitting 1 or two and Burly 3 or 4 in the lineup.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 20:56 pmThank you Dumb Dora.![]()

Way to hope our elite prospect can be Alec f’ing Burleson.

Re: Could Wetherholt be a MOTO hitter?
I posted about 5 years ago that Cardinals had a plethora of players who in the old days were 6 hole hitters. Low avg, slow, 15-20 HR power, low contact guys. Mo seemed to love those guys. Don’t fit the ballpark guys!MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:26 pmimadangman wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:20 pm Wetherholt to me looks like he could hit 1, 2, or 3.

Shady’s next OP about McGreevy:
“I hope McGreevy can be as productive a pitcher as Burleson is a hitter.”

Looks like a PERFECT #2 hitter to me.
If his power develops even further, then he could end up in the #3 hole!
