With Masyn Winn (knee soreness) scratched from today’s #STLCards starting lineup, Thomas Saggese slides over to shortstop and Jose Fermin starts at second base.

Sooooooooo glad we get to see Saggese & Fermin instead of, oh I don't know..................JJW! :x
No benefit at all in bringing JJ up in August, or maybe even this season.

First, he's 100% earned a callup.

Second, bringing him up so he can get his feet wet, meet his teammates, find a place to live and learn St. Louis, experience big league travel, the media, ect.....is a HUGE BENEFIT, gives him a jumpstart toward 2026.

From a J. Denton column:

Masyn Winn, a leading candidate to win the National League’s Gold Glove award at shortstop in 2025, was promoted from Triple-A Memphis to the Cardinals on Aug. 18, 2023, and he raved about how the experience helped him get better prepared for his full rookie season in 2024.

Teams all around MLB are bringing up their top prospects (re: Tampa & Pirates this week).
The roster will change over the winter….so meeting his teammates is meaningless

Finding a place to live may not be necessary if he doesn’t make the club in spring training

I doubt flying and having carry the bags really is much of a preparation for mlb competition

On a side note….who gives you the biggest boner…..bloom or this kid?

Watching Saggese play defense is not a pleasant sight. He struggles to keep up at any position. Not enough arm for third or short, not enough range for second unless he is hitting 825 OPS. Not likely to happen.

I agree. JJ should be brought up soon. He is ready to contribute at the show. Last night he got two hits off Chris Sale! and went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and a walk. Made a couple outstanding plays at SS. No good reason to keep him in Memphis any longer, IMO.
Winn and his barking knee should be nervous

You slammed Burleson early on, too. Stay tuned wishywashy. You should have paid closer attention to my Burleson threads and you wouldn't have looked so foolish. But no, you had to pile on to try to be cool. Loser.

“Relax. You’re taking things way too seriously. People are just having some fun on an innocent, silly message board. Lighten up a little.”

Bullcheit, you were making an uncalled for personal dig. You are kind of a slimebag trying to disguise as an innocent baseball discussion poster. Grow up, pup.

I haven’t called you any type of derogatory name.
From where I sit you are the last person who should be calling anyone a “slimebag”!
And I have plenty of baseball discussions daily with
good decent people.
You....on the other hand seem to have a long history of sick, racist, and disgraceful behavior under multiple screen names.
I wish you no harm but you clearly need major professional help.
Take a look in the mirror....then deal with your mental and behavioral issues.
Thus ends the lesson!
