How would moving down to AA pitching help? The organization does not give a rat’s rear end about winning a World Series so why would they care about a AA title?

There isn't going to be a '27 season.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 11:47 am Does this mean we can all start hoping for a good team in 2027 or is it 2028?

I'm not sure why the big market owners would agree to sell their property to small market owners, nor how the small market teams are going to come up with the revenue required for such a purchase. I don't know what new conditions you are going sell the big market teams under. I also don't think the players are going to except a cap without a major labor disruption. Not saying they shouldn't but I don't think they will.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 13:37 pmThe owners aren't that stupid... Of course they are. But I'm not gonna live my life with one foot hovering over the brake. It's a [shirt]ty way to drive.
Make me emperor of the world, and I'd solve the owner's problems on the first day.
1. Small and medium sized markets buy the big market teams.
2. Impose TV revenue sharing-all money goes into one big pot and everyone gets an equal share.
3. Install a salary cap with a floor.
4. Lower the free agency service time by one year.
5. Sell the big-market teams under new conditions.
Play ball.
Run every team like a small market team? No thanks.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 13:37 pmThe owners aren't that stupid... These are NFL rules. Every team is run the same way. And in the NFL system small markets are much more competitive with big markets.alw80 wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 14:29 pmRun every team like a small market team? The NFL is by far the most popular pro-league in the US.alw80 wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 15:24 pmAnd the NFL kinda sucks.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 14:50 pmThese are NFL rules. The quality of play isn't great at all. Take away fantasy and gambling and the NFL wouldn't be that popular.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 15:39 pmThe NFL is by far the most popular pro-league in the US.alw80 wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 15:24 pmAnd the NFL kinda sucks.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 14:50 pmThese are NFL rules. What about it sucks? Do you think their revenue sharing system sucks? If so, Why?
Maybe so, but their revenue sharing, cap/floor system works great. The Kansas City Chiefs (Small Market) have won three of the last 6 SBs.alw80 wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 16:18 pmThe quality of play isn't great at all.
