1. Wetherholt
2. Winn
3. Burleson
4a. Nolan Gorman aka the UNiCorn **
4b. Jordan Walker **
5. Leonardo Bernal
6. Church
7. Haven't yet acquired
** I have them in the same category.
However, I think one or both might be gone in 2026.
Most likely Gorman
Padilla is a true stud. Sad about his injury that lost him the last month of his season. His bat was coming alive, too.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 14:24 pmSomeone coming up with Rodriguez who may not make it at all, but if he does- Padilla is electric. I hope he can hit enough to make it. He's years away.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 13:28 pmi think Rainiel shows all the signs.rockondlouie wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 13:19 pm The only potential "franchise" player (IMO) is of course JJW.
No one on the current roster even comes close to being a franchise player.
It's the bat. Have you actually seen him play? He's only 18.rockondlouie wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 13:56 pmCould be an everyday player, doesn't have "franchise player" potential (IMO).hugeCardfan wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 13:28 pmi think Rainiel shows all the signs.rockondlouie wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 13:19 pm The only potential "franchise" player (IMO) is of course JJW.

Cardinals are loaded w/quality catching prospects.
Bloom can certainly package one w/Donny or Noot or Burleson and hopefully land a starting pitcher!
Power is the key. To be an elite SS in today’s game 25HR minimum will be needed. 15 relegates him to a glove only player.rockondlouie wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 13:59 pmThere at least six-seven current NL shortstops he's going to have to beat out w/more to come in the future.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 13:31 pmI'll take that bet on Winn. he's having a sophomore year. watch out next year.rockondlouie wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 13:20 pmCranny wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 13:01 pmWetherholt, Winn, and Walker all have potential for All Star consideration. I'll take that bet on Winn/Walker who will likely never even sniff an all-star selection.
But I hope you're right and win this "fake" bet.![]()
Of course not but it's almost impossible to say an 18 yr old kid has "franchise potential" unless he's a phenom which Rainiel certainly is not.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 18:20 pmIt's the bat. That plus a low OB%, minimal stolen bases, ect.........Youboughtit wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 18:23 pmPower is the key. How many 18 year olds dominate the lower professional leagues the way Rodriguez has? you might be right and you might be wrong about him. Sure its early, but that's why he's in the discussion. Agree to disagree.rockondlouie wrote: ↑20 Aug 2025 08:32 amOf course not but it's almost impossible to say an 18 yr old kid has "franchise potential" unless he's a phenom which Rainiel certainly is not.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 18:20 pmIt's the bat. Hundreds have dominated rookie/A ball, but I hope this kid becomes a stud.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑20 Aug 2025 11:59 amHow many 18 year olds dominate the lower professional leagues the way Rodriguez has? you might be right and you might be wrong about him.
