Yeah my buddy who is a Yankees fan went yesterday and said he couldn't believe how many seats were empty....said it was also the worst cards team he's seen in a very long time...Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 00:49 am Went to the game on Friday. Have been a die hard fan my entire life. I have never been so bored at a MLB game in my life. This team is infuriatingly (not sure if that's a word) bad! No stars to watch. Who wants to spend $200-$300 to take your family to a game for that? Prices are out of control and the atmosphere SUCKED! Worst feeling I've had as a fan in my lifetime. Minor league games are more entertaining than that, honestly!!
Also, the fact that over half the crowd were Yankees fans was even more disgusting! Ownership should be EMBARRASSED!!!!

He’s worth 4 billion….he likely knows what he’s doing..rockondlouie wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 08:54 am This is why you can't simply slash payroll to the bare bones
St. Louis WILL NOT support a loser Cardinals team (re: 1970's).
BDWJr is going to make a massive mistake if he goes through w/his plans to slash payroll even further in 2026.
Hello 1.5M attendance
Hello your franchise value plummeting by HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of DOLLARS!
NOT SMART BILL, NOT SMART AT ALL
So, what you’re saying to Bill is don’t worry, raise season ticket prices 10-15% for next year since your 2025 plan knocked it out of the park?BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 12:07 pm Baseball is probably the easiest sport to follow on television - not sure how people can stand going to a game in the St. Louis heat. Add the price of everything up and it's just not worth it to many anymore - kids aren't exactly begging their parents to take them to the ball game these days.
Same. Add in the fact it was like 150 degrees, team sucks and I’ll I could think was I have ac and beer at home.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 00:49 am Went to the game on Friday. +1.... DeTwit and Mo-ran (bleep) up!Hooking wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 09:04 am This season was an obvious "test the waters" for ownership to see if they could spend zero money, not put out a fun product and see if the baseball fans still show up. They probably have been told their entire lives that Cardinals fans will always show up no matter what or there is nothing else to do in STL than watch baseball during the summer.
Well they are being proven wrong.
Back in the so-called day, the Cardinals did. "Paid" attendance, and "total" attendance.Imperial Capitalist wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 09:21 amAll teams report tickets sold, but it would be extremely interesting if teams dared to report actual attendance.

I was working out of an office that looked over the stadium until a couple months ago and my estimate is the ACTUAL attendance will likely average out around 17k a game. So, maybe, MAYBE, 1.4 million through the turnstiles this season.Imperial Capitalist wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 09:21 amAll teams report tickets sold, but it would be extremely interesting if teams dared to report actual attendance.

I posted this Winter that this was a con game BDWJr was pulling on the fan base, lying about this being a "runway" season to evaluate the young players so he could SLASH PAYROLL!
CT has already deleted but here's what I also said in May:

You mean a payroll slashing con game where they play (essentially) the same players?
