Yes.

And that will also be true for next year's team, which I expect he'll be on. :(

It probably frees up the younger core to take more ownership in clubhouse.

An old, aging, self centered player, can drain the good vibes out.

I expect Arenado to have his agent find a sucker team in the offseason.

Cards will have to eat 15-20 million but so be it.

Gorman sucks defensively at 3B!

A steal at twice the price.

Arenado has really disappointed me the past couple of years. Self-centered is a great way to describe it.

1000% yes.
Arenado is a negative value player. He needs to be cut yesterday

desertrat23 wrote: 12 Aug 2025 10:55 am Short team they're about as good; the defensive struggles are real but I think they'll even out with more reps for Gorman. Long term they're much better. Arenado has to go even if they have to eat all of his money.
I don't like Gorman at all, defensively. He's got good enough arm strength, but he's been consistently inaccurate throwing. He's consistently missed throws at 2B and 3B in the BIGS and in the minor leagues.
Is it possible he could improve? I guess, but I think I wouldn't bet on him now.

I personally like Arenado, but he's aged like milk. Time to move on, if we can. At least his salary drops a ton the next 2 years.

OT: Remember Walker played 3B when he was drafted? His fielding percentage was pretty low at 3B in the minors, though. 40 errors in 146 MiLB games.
Gorman in the minors had 47 in 190 games.
Saggese had 21 in 117 games.

Yes.
Been saying that, correctly of course, for a long time.
Next question please.

Hopefully Chaim recognizes that it’s time for Arenado to not be around any longer. Defensively, he’s still one of the best in the game, but that doesn’t offset all the baggage he brings. The Cardinals just have to remove him from the team, somehow, someway!
