About the same prolly. Offensively they're better but defensively they're worse. Either way it's time for younger players to get more reps at 3B in the bigs, so net positive for the medium-term outlook of the team.

Is the team better without a guy who had a .440 OPS in July and gets 100% of the starts?

Yeah.

The team may be better or not but the organization is better off with him out of the line up. Let the YUTES play.

Short team they're about as good; the defensive struggles are real but I think they'll even out with more reps for Gorman. Long term they're much better. Arenado has to go even if they have to eat all of his money.

The wheels were coming off last year. This year, he was hitting .311 on April 15. Since then, he'(poop) .220/.272/.337.608 in 324 plate appearances. He's moved into the wheezing phase of his career. Whatever's left of his defense cannot make up for that. He's pretty much a non-entity. Sort of a poor man's Ken Reitz.

Or a VERY expensive, non-tradeable Ken Reitz.

That too. The quintessential albatross.

“I’m not a leader” NA should be nowhere near this young team…….that and he’s a below avg player.

That is probably the correct answer for the next 50 years.

Agree
The glaring issue is that he is owed $37M for the next two years.
I guess we’ll find out if Gorman can play reasonable defense there?
So far not good.
But they have to find out. Can always fall back to JJ or Donovan.

This. Gorman's extremely poor mans' TGKS impression is better than the power sapped Arenado at this point.
