Shoot, we've already got 2 of the 5 losses we need. Should be a piece of cake to get the rest of it.

I have no idea where all this optimism comes from after we saw the same team go 5-13 against the Pirates, Cubs, Nats, Braves, D-Backs and Rockies during an earlier 18-game stretch before which great things were predicted by some.
37 games left. To win just 86, they'll need to go 25-12.

Well, we're 15 games into this stretch, and they are now 5-10 after losing 2 of 3 to the Pirates and 5 of their last 6 vs. the Pirates. Yes, the Pirates.

Don't think anyone expected Donovan , Arenado, and Scott to all be out at same time during this entire stretch in August . 1/3 of the starting lineup is shelved .

They went 5-13 earlier against the Pirates, Cubs, Nats, Braves, D-Backs and Rockies. They're kind of short on excuses.

28 games left -- 18 against teams over .500. And 6 more are against the Giants, who are now a half game ahead of the Cardinals.
Oh, well, it doesn't matter. Here's hoping Bloom makes major changes, but improvement will take time. Right now, there is no ace or No. 2 pitcher and no MOTO bat of any significance. That's a big problem.
