Keep your fingers crossed . I wouldn't bet your house on it though.ICCFIM2 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025 22:51 pmI am hoping they change that to Leahy before the game...Baseball Savant wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025 21:59 pm Mikolas is starting tomorrow, the ultimate momentum buster

Miles is due for a good start - three starts ago he threw 5 scoreless vs San Diego, but Marmol needs to have Leahy or Svanson get ready early if Miles starts tossing those juicy meatballs. Can't leave him in to give up a dozen runs in 2 IP.Baseball Savant wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025 21:59 pm Mikolas is starting tomorrow, the ultimate momentum buster
Don't stop it.

They dealt 3 relievers, one of which had an ERA near 5 over the last 2 months he was with us.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025 21:35 pm I thought after the trade deadline with series' in San Diego, Los Angeles, and then at home against the Cubs that the it would be a blood bath for the Cardinals. These are all top teams in the NL and all improved at the deadline, while the Cardinals sold. Hasn't turned out that way. Way to go Cards. (No, we aren't making the playoffs, but credit where credit is due)
Nice- rest rebuild confused. Or. Is that the streetlight; or the moon.JDW wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 11:00 amDon't stop it.
It's near mid August, and the Cards have a pulse. Yes, it's irregular and unpredictable, but still occasionally detectable.
Right now, their PO chances are significantly better than at later points in the 2011 regular season.
Sure, I'd strongly agree it doesn't turn out like 2011, but even just teasing the PO's this year isn't bad for a team in ............ still not sure what state the Cards are currently in ............... reset? rebuild? confused?
But anyway, even w/o the former great defensive Arenado manning 3B, the Cards have a whisper of a chance.
And to boot, it's the Mets currently stumbling badly .......................... heh, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh!
Mikolas tonight! Maybe he will give the team 5 good innings.
Have it your way. You realize Mikolas and Pallante start 2 out of every 5 games? You will be antagonized a little longer.JDW wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 11:00 amDon't stop it.

Aside from possibly their bullpen, what are the Dodgers ‘major’ flaws?vegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025 22:02 pm I mean Dodgers and Cubs aren't as dangerous as you think. Both teams have major flaws
And a clearly gassed Liberatore. The rotation is still a mess.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 11:31 amHave it your way. You realize Mikolas and Pallante start 2 out of every 5 games? You will be antagonized a little longer.JDW wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 11:00 amDon't stop it.

Ha, antagonized? Nah, but entertained? Well, once in a while, and was entertained last night.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 11:31 amHave it your way. I'm all for enjoying baseball. There are always interesting things happening. I just have no illusions/delusions about making the playoffs. It will be quite awhile before we are mathematically eliminated. We have been practically eliminated for some time now.JDW wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 13:34 pmHa, antagonized? Nah, but entertained? Just the calls at 2B were entertaining.
The scrutiny of whether the mitt came off the bag by a fraction while the tag was still there on the SB attempt .............. wow.
That and the PO at 2B was so nicely timed, and again about as close as can be.
I'm full well expecting the Cards to not make the PO's, but until the fat lady sings, we might as well enjoy and Crow some Armstrong.
Starting pitching injuries, Mookie Betts looking like a shell of himself, Michael ConfortoQuincy Varnish wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 13:15 pmAside from possibly their bullpen, what are the Dodgers ‘major’ flaws?vegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025 22:02 pm I mean Dodgers and Cubs aren't as dangerous as you think. They have Snell, Glasnow & Yamamoto healthy right now, and w/ the way Sasaki pitched they’re better without him. Betts has been disappointing for sure, but has been hitting over the last few days. Conforto sucks. He’s basically the only guy on their roster that sucks… hard to call that a “major” flaw.vegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 15:22 pmStarting pitching injuries, Mookie Betts looking like a shell of himself, Michael ConfortoQuincy Varnish wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 13:15 pmAside from possibly their bullpen, what are the Dodgers ‘major’ flaws?vegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025 22:02 pm I mean Dodgers and Cubs aren't as dangerous as you think.
