I do not think the mod meant it as a compliment, I think he meant it as a way to encapsulate countertrolling pipsqueakery from the people whose level of intended contribution is "I want to dominate trolls"

But in terms of how the thread is perceiving it differently, of course it is Bob Bassen. It's a shame that not all Blues fans understand what Bob Bassen was like in real time, because it is one of the 1st things I think about being a Blues fan.

Which always gets us back to that most-atrocious-of-all-time trade, when Caron likely gave away the keys to a deep cup run. We had the horses. What he saw in Butcher I'll never understand. And the price...

As for Butcher, Coach Brian Sutter wanted him. Blues also added Snepts, which made the defense nasty. The price will be debated forever.

As for "diminutive dominance", it's the un-drafted, Selke-winner Rick Meagher who put the check back in the Checkerdome.

This was who I thought of!

As a Blues fan who likes his hard working players he was my all time hardest worker!

Yes the hard worker comment was aimed at the critic

I thought of him when the Blues let DP go a few years ago..... different players but Bobby had a connection with the fans here in the Lou a lot like DP did.

Alex DeBrincat - a lot of teams passed on him due to his size - he's a legit scorer that never gets hurt.

Never said he was. "Blues also added Snepts" was in context of Blues having a nasty Sutter-like defense.

I got it & knew what you meant when you first posted; he was added in a different trade for similar objective. I'm sure Brian Sutter had an input...Rich Sutter was included with him.

But going back to the subject. There is another St. Louis player to add to the list -- the undrafted Martin St. Louis. (Maybe he was mentioned in the thread by someone else above...I can't remember?)

I called PBP for games Martin St. Louis played in college against our team. This was hands down the most incredible player I saw play college hockey.
