Been sayin. Other than three relievers one a closer, same team. Same offense. Same defense. Same staff.

The team is in 4th place and is .500. They aren't competing.Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 09:15 amMe too.
You can trade off guys and still compete. Never understood why that concept is hard for some.
I wanted to see him want more but I don’t run the team so oh well lol.

My thinking as well. He might even serve as a part of closer committee, but we need a bonafide RH closer. Granillo may well settle into the role.11WSChamps wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 08:26 am I can see JJ being in mix and match closing role for this last several weeks but not for 2026.
You just seldom see a lefthanded closer.

Yeah - that's the stretch goal. We got "something", but how much will they ever really help us? Guys at those levels in the prospect rankings often never make the majors. Or post less than 2 career WAR if they do.Whatashame wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 01:28 am Let’s just hope that 1 or 2 of the prospects traded for turn out to be players that will help us later on.

I actually hope they find a way to keep him..quality lefty relievers are hard to find.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 09:30 amMy thinking as well. I like JoJo, too.
What was the last truly effective lefty reliever we had for more than one or two seasons? Kline?

He did great in '11, but he was really only effective then. He declined in his first full season here, and then cratered the season after.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 14:23 pmRczep (not even gonna bother trying to spell that)Strummer Jones wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 14:21 pm I like JoJo, too.

Hopefully Graceffo will be more effective next year.

Granillo will be closer mid 2026.
