Over / under on half the remaining contract? $50M?
Yep. Correa is also 30, and had a 900 OPS last year.
And a .704 OPS this year.
And .711 the year before last.
I'd say he was overpaid. Signed thru 2028 at $33M per, so you'd think the Twinkies had to eat some of it.
At least his Twins contract total (6/200) was closer to the Astros original offer than the 300M+ deals Correa had lined up that off-season.

I wonder if this means they'd move Paredes in the offseason. I'd take him manning the hot corner. 26 years old and not an FA until 2028

Jesus Sanchez to the Astros as well. I think that one will help more than Correa.

Absolutely they are. I’m just saying he has more upside than Arenado. It’s not a fair comparison.

The Twins paid Correa about $160M for 3.67 seasons which amounted to 450 games since he spent about 116 days on the IL (according to AI).

2022 $35,100,000
2023 $33,333,333
2024 $33,333,334
2025 $24,888,889 for 2/3 season
trade cash $33,000,000

Even Goldy was still productive as Nado's current age. Trash
Nado will end up with a red jacket solidifying his next 3 years here

So fans are free to boo Correa again.

minnesota wins easily this deal, they pay 33mil, but houston owes 71 mil, and correa is an aging quickly, light hitting 3b.

yikes what a bad deal

Getting Sanchez was one of the best moves of the deadline. He’ll do well in that park and lineup.

Thanks. That's about 1/3rd of the remaining guaranteed part of the contract for Correa.

I'm just gauging what it would take to move the Nado contract. According to Sportrac it looks like Arenado is owed just $31M over the next 2 years. But $42M in deferrals for 15 years.

They could just eat the deferrals to start.
