I knew the return would be lousy because Mo has never acquired a top 100 prospect in a trade. He is so bad. But, I have a feeling all of our trades are going to be guys in a+ due to the 40 man roster crunch. I hope they are wanting to get guys like jj and church up in September, and are making room. We also have to have spots for the Tommy John guys and beaz. It’s time to bring crooks up too.

I agree with this. We have no idea about these players. Helsley was going apparently. We get a 20 year old infield prospect and 2 hard throwing RH pitchers. Now we get to develop them. Maybe they are zero talent bums but maybe we find a player or two out of this group. Let’s see what happens with them.

Helsley probably should have been traded over the winter but wasn’t. A bigger question is with Fedde. There was some value there but that’s obviously gone. Mo is here for 2 more months. I’m excited for the change. Moving on.

I can look up these players and see how they’ve fared so far, and what I see is an A ball infielder who barely has hit .240. A starting pitcher in A ball who hardly goes 4 innings in any start.

I said this is how they’ve done “ so far “. Sure they could turn out to be all-stars, but they sure aren’t yet. But it’s right there in black and white how they’ve played up to now. All you have to do is look.

Yeah some just like to whine. I have no idea if the guys we got for Helsley will pan out or not. I do know we would not have Helsley next year unless we outbid everyone else which we could still do but we will have 3 new prospects.

Hoping one or more pan out.

JJ is pushing 23 and still not here, yet the nattering nabobs of negativity gush all over him. I wonder how JJ would fair at age 18 or 19 in pro ball?

Sort of ironic since Baez is in fact a top 100 prospect per Baseball America.

At the least you get a RH hitting power prospect something the organization is lacking.

Years away but nonetheless something to possibly build on.

As for the pitchers its apparent you can't have enough of those.
