I’m not saying you’re wrong, but if he’s hurt, he shouldn’t be pitching.

Yes. And Fedde was never the same after his gem. Odd.

Pitchers have bad stretches. Unfortunately, we have had 5 pitchers having bad stretches. McG did well. We shall see if that lasts. This team will go nowhere without at least 3 reliable starting pitchers, and a couple of fillers at the back end who are not terrible. This season, next season, whenever. The Doyle pick will hopefully work out, but few guys make a successful jump from the draft to the bigs without some time in the minors. It happens, but is rare. I miss Dave Duncan. He had a way of getting guys of the quality of Fedde and Pallante to get the best out of their talent. I haven't seen any evidence that Blake really helps anyone. Sure, you can compile data on hitters, but is there anyone helping these guys with the mechanics of pitching? Not sure....

Thanks for the stats on his struggles in July.
It made me do further research.

I extensively tracked on specific days of the week he had struggled more than others. For 2025, Sonny had tough outings on days of the week ending in letter Y . I work full-time now in Cards analytics department. I was part time last year . Mo apparently like my analysis on projects.

The reason Gray insisted on staying in St Louis? Because there's no pressure because winning is not the objective of this team.

Well most all players play ‘hurt’. Masyn Winn had bum knee right now..got injection ..he’s hurt still playing.. Nado was laying with shoulder impingement, Burly noticeably limping running got ball in LF after fouling off balls on his foot on and on.
We would all be amazed to be in a clubhouse trading room daily seeing the number of players getting daily treatments .
It
It’s part of what they do. Trainers jobs to keep the guys on the field .Be my guess that Sonny us dealing with some shoulder/arm issue too.
Players Never bring that up to media. Know why ? Because they know if they do ‘some’ fans would say oh he is making excuses for his poor pitching, hitting whatever case may be. So players not managers rarely will discuss that.
