Makes Winn expendable in a trade
I’d rather have the two of them up the middle
Till Winn needs knee surgery, or chronic back issues
You call everyone names here.
Then you come back with this garbage?
Take a good look in the mirror, what are you staring at?
I have to tell you; this is a dumb statement.

Where did I call someone a name in this post?
You got to trade something to get something. I state all are available . I trade Winn or Hurdy. Posters get all upset. It's funny.
One has to go.
Sorry this upsets you Mrs Winn.

lol no kidding he conveniently forgets JJs hamstring issues which are the reason he fell so low in the draft and already landed him on the IL this season but wants to take shots at Winn about his injuries

I wouldn't trade Winn. You've got a defensive SS with some pop. You add players around that . Do what it takes to move Nado, and maybe even Gorman, but not Winn.
He's way more than just a defensive SS. He's a superstar defensive shortstop with 16 OAA and a cannon for an arm. And only 3 errors. You keep guys like that. And his bat is way better than OzzIe's was at his age.

Technically....anyone can be dealt for the correct return.
I would be very hesitant to move Winn as he projects to be an elite defender for years at a prime defensive position.
I have not seen JJ play but it sounds like he could handle the position but Winn projects better.
JJ to 2B or 3B.
Now....I would consider moving Winn for a cost controlled TOR starter.
But those are rarely made available.

Zero chance Winn will or should be traded.
You don't make a talent depleted roster and improve it by trading Winn. He may or may not develop further offensively but he is already a top defensive SS.
You tell Arenado he accepts a trade (assuming anybody would take him for nothing) or he sits. Either way he is done being a fulltime player in STL.
Then you get to keep Winn and Donovan and put JJ at second.
You don't get better by trading Winn.

Not at all. You still need a SS and a 2B.
Nado, Gorman,... those are the folks on the bubble

BPOT-But I don't have the energy to argue the point. Maybe JJ will be BPOT next year. But he won't be the best ss. So we should probably keep that guy.

True
But even w/superior power (Ozzie had none), I'm not sure Winn is that much better an offensive player than 23 year old Ozzie:
Ozzie age 23 season
.258 BA
.311 OB%
46 RBI's
40 SB's
Winn age 23 season and counting
.269 BA
.325 OB%
34 RBI's
6 SB's

No doubt. Winn should get the necessary help with the knee to get it healthy for the 2026 season this off season.
+3 WAR guys don't grow on trees. When you produce one from the farm, especially while he's cost controlled, you shouldn't just trade them off, you instead try to produce more of them to strive to build a winning roster. Wetherholt projects to be another one.
Pair them together in the MI.
Donovan might produce a +3 WAR at 3B next year. Contreras could do the same at 1B. A Donovan-Winn-Wetherholt-Contreras IF alignment is potentially a really good one.
+1 I like that infield and add a good corner outfield bat and the line up could start looking pretty good
Hoping that Herrera can learn LF decently to possibly give the Cards better OF options.
Also optimistic about Baez, but maybe his ETA is late 2026 or 2027 if he continues to progress. Plus power potential there for sure.

He reminds me of Chase Utley!
The centerpiece C. Bloom will re-build the Cardinals around.
