you have to have pitchers who can throw a lot of innings start a game. We let Fedde go, McGreevy replaces him.

There's no one left in the cupboard to replace Mikolas. Too many injured pitchers or underperforming pitchers.

So...Mikolas pitches.

Not really a circus. It's necessity
Matz could have a gotten the start with proper planning. They really need Mathews and Roby to get ready, pronto.
Mathews...yes, I agree. But his fastball command is off. Roby, as you know, is 1) on the IL, and 2) having his innings carefully monitored b/c he hasn't been over 50 IP in nearly 3 years....and he's well over 50 now.

R O B Y isn't in the equation right now...for "obvious reasons"
Two words: Roddery Munoz.
Actually, considering the current situation, you might be right.
how would they manage that? Would be the same secret Stretch Out Planning that they should've used for Matz?

They would need to get around his inability to not suck after his 2nd out. Can that be done?
So what's your solution? The only thing you've offered if giving Mikolas another start.
and I explained why...they probably need to get throw away players back on trades that can start innings...we only need 5 or 6 starts covered to end the season....probably watch the waiver wire.

Unless Ian Bedell is the second coming of Christ during his rehab, we have to use Mikolas....for now. You can't pen hopes on a AAA reliever who couldn't cut it as a starter last year, nor can you pen hopes on Roby for the two reasons I stated, but you refuse to accept. The IL is a real thing...and 7 Day IL in the minors doesn't mean it's toe nail
Sorry, that's not very enlightening.
Sorry, that you can't comprehend. Same Shady as always. I tried to help you. Run, Forrest, Run

On multiple other OP/threads that you’ve started in just the last hour alone, you’ve advocated for the Cardinals to be hard sellers at the deadline, so why are you so concerned about finding immediate “solutions” for replacing Mikolas (and his considerable innings contribution) “pronto” this season?

I know a helluva lot more than you realize or care to admit. By the way, you "missed the boat" again on Burleson this season. He's a very good MLB hitter whether you realize it or not. lol

in the meantime...Mikolas still has to pitch for 3 more outtings until they get stretched out....Matz will be traded by then. Graceffo isn't a very effective starter.
