The point isn’t that McGreevy is the next Paul Skenes, it’s that other than Sonny Gray who currently is better (maybe Liberatore but it’s close) and how the head of the organization has refused to prioritize winning (or even follow his own words). Even the refresh or reset talked about giving young players a chance to showcase their skills. I’m not saying he can’t be a decent back of the rotation guy and I’d certainly rather have him that Fedde or Mikolas, but people are getting over their skis here for sure.

(The ease with which teams can yo-yo pitchers to the minors and back, effectively making for a pitching roster of 17 or 18 is not good for the game, and clearly not good for MM--or the fans--in this case.)
