I have another theory. I'm not sure that it's true that he doesn't want to do anything, or is lazy. I think he avoids actions because he doesn't know how. He doesn't know who to trade for, who to trade away, or who to sign, so he does as little as possible. Better to be called cautious, or lazy than to be discovered as a fraud.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 13:45 pm Mo isn't committing to anything because he doesn't want to do anything at the trade deadline. When Jimmy asked him about Mo approach as bring business , he discussed about some things he didn’t like in his job, without going into specifics.
He seems to be burned out. He decided a year ago he wanted out but stayed on this year .
The lower attendance and decreased revenues have taken their toll.
Hoping Bloom is more upbeat and positive. It’s like Mo can ‘t wait to walk out the door. Bye bye

No it wasn’t. Every WS the Cardinals won they had a top 5 farm and most importantly a top 10 payroll. That is currently $215. And the Cardinals are at $130m with another $40m coming off this year. Until that formula is resumed we will not have a wS caliber team. Mediocrity is the new standardJuanAgosto wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 13:54 pmPayroll was high due to Mo handling out stupid contracts.Youboughtit wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 13:52 pmDodgers Braves Yankees Phillies and several others have 3+ future hOFers in their prime. I was talking about payroll numbers after 2013. Leake, Holland, Gregerson, Fowler, Miller, Cecil, etc. Those idiotic contracts inflated the payroll with very little to show for it.Youboughtit wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 15:31 pmNo it wasn’t. For some reason some CTers think free agency is cheating. That a championship means more if you win it with homegrown guys. It’s a very reserve-clause era mentality.Youboughtit wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 15:28 pmWho cares where they came from and ATL almost all of them. We go to watch elite stars. So why not spend now? Their farm rank is rising. 12-13 and have the #5 pick. Perfect time to go add that elite MOTO 30/100 guy in his prime. They have $100m to spend on that and a TOR SPJuanAgosto wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 15:42 pmI was talking about payroll numbers after 2013.
