Good move?
Why?
He can't hit:
.258 .277 .371 .648
The guy who needs to be shagging flies in the OF is I. Hererra when he's healthy.
Team should have done that 3 years ago when I was first to advise that move.
3 years ago he was playing 2B in High A ball with the Texas Rangers organization. None of us had likely heard of him, or forgot his name after seeing it in passing in the last round of the 2020 draft.
In the fall of 2022 - 3 calendar years ago - Herrera had just finished his first season appearing with STL.
He was not in A ball and he was not with the Rangers.
And it was very obvious to a few of us that even then Herrera did not look like he was ready to be an MLB catcher - and that is when conversations began here about trading him or considering other positions.
reading is fundamental, and I didn't comprehend what I read.
My apologies

I got an idea.
How about actually acquiring an OF'er who can hit from the right side?
The same suggestion I have been making for the past 10 years - including the years I alone was correctly telling everyone that The Paper Tyler and The Poser would never be the answer.

As I alone recently correctly analyzed, Walker might have placed himself at risk concerning STL's future plans and could well be traded this month or in the off-season.
This news certainly could support that perfect analysis.
When are you going to perfectly analyze when unikkorn is going to become a legitimate major leaguer he has got runway and is [defecating] all over it

Do you think Sagesse could play the entire outfield by himself if Roby was pitching?

He’d move to SS for Feigner. And still cover the outfield.

Does softball discussion still meet ShadyHonkey criteria?

Cornelius, I am going to take the fifth here, with a longish straw.

Yep but as you will recall we were being told about all these young outfielders we had. None of which worked out.

Cranny has assured us that Saggese will be a star. Maybe he'll be right this time, in due time. Meanwhile...
Cranny also insists there's nothing wrong with the 26 man roster. That little gem came right after getting shut out 3 games in a row by the Pirates. Trying to shoe-horn Saggese into the lineup is proof this reset is needed.

And as everyone recalls, a few years back when everyone was clamoring that The Paper Tyler and The Poser were elite long term centerpieces, I alone correctly analyzed that both would fail to become what Mo and fans were dreaming of.
The lack of a quality RH hitting bat in the outfield has plagued this team for more than a decade.
Of course the team should look at Herrera and Saggese as possible pieces - they have no other options.
Better yet - the team needs to do what I have advised for a decade.
ACQUIRE one.

You have a very bad, selective memory. Not everyone on this forum were "clamoring that O'Neill and Bader were elite". I was among the many who had serious doubts about both of them. I stated that Bader would not hit much, and that his defense was overrated. I also stated many times that O'Neill would be a slugger prone to injury and tons of strikeouts.
The OF I was wrong about, (and so were you), was Carlson.
You were right about the need for a RHH OF with power, but you have not been the only one wishing for one of those either.
