gGeez better win this one, can't head into Wrigley losing three straight to the 'rats
I'm sure the Cubs are happy to miss Gray
I’m sure we are glad to miss their big guy. He pitches today. We will get Boyd on Sunday. On four days rest.

I’m sure we are happy we miss Imanaga.
No doubt, that guy's been a pain in the a z z.

Man I kept begging for the Cardinals to go after him last year while most were focused (no chance) on Yamamoto.

Nobody expects an encore performance

That’s unrealistic

Exactly. So then it’s a normal performance in a sweep situation. Say 2-3 runs thru six ish. Will that be too much.

am I wrong, or is he not fond of the day game? I wouldn't put too much stock into an encore, that was a masterful gem. I'm scared he might get hit a bit today.

I hope I'm wrong...we need the offense to back up at least 6 IP from him.
For his career Gray has a 3.08 ERA/1.16 WHIP/.595 winning% in day games vs 3.74 ERA/1.20 WHIP/.529 winning% at night.
This year he has a 3.19 ERA/1.08 WHIP/3-0 in day games vs 3.55 ERA/1.10 WHIP/5-2 in night games.

Whether he prefers night games over day games though, I don’t know. :D
there you go...I know they've moved his starts to night games of a DH this season....maybe that's the leap I made in my head

thanks...I was super wrong there.
If day games aren't an issue why isn't he pitching Friday? Give him more rest. Instead they're pitching their two worst pitchers right now (Mikolas and Fedde) against the first place team. What am I missing?

I jammed my fingers once doing nothing in particular. My hand was stiff and sore for a week. He jammed his playing baseball professionally. I sure hope he gets better soon. We need that defense!
