This is from an article I just read:

“Willson Contreras had x-rays on his left hand, they are negative. His status is day-to-day, the Cardinals say.”

Contreras is expected to rest for a few days, with a potential return during the upcoming series at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs on Friday. This update carries weight for a Cards team that leans heavily on his bat and veteran leadership. Through 81 games in 2025, he is batting .249 with 11 home runs, 51 RBIs, and 42 runs scored. Contreras is currently on pace to eclipse 100 RBIs—production that highlights just how vital he is to the heart of the lineup.

Behind the plate, the 10-year veteran remains a key presence in managing the pitching staff, which only amplifies the impact of any absence. While Ivan Herrera has proven to be a capable backup, Contreras’ experience, power, and leadership make him difficult to replace. His ability to play both catcher and first base also provides valuable flexibility that stabilizes the Cardinals catcher situation and overall lineup depth.

“WC concerned frustrated seeks protection”

Well Willson perhaps if you didn’t stand right on top of the plate with HANDS out in front of you literally hanging over the plate…..maybe just maybe you wouldn’t get hit so much in your HANDS

Not sure it is going to change things just hitting some guy.

Oh it changes things in a good way.

You have to make them pay
You really want for Gray to risk getting tossed immediately if the ump thinks he deliberately plunked somebody? That would be dumb.
This is exactly what will happen, so Gray don’t do the hitting, let a reliever.

Today's the day to nail Reynolds or Cruz.

Yesterday was a 0-0 game until bottom of the 8th, not smart to do it then.

Would have greater impact if Cardinal pitchers started throwing at Cardinal batters and Marmot. Lack of production and in game strategy is self evident.

Have you seen MLB players bunt? Have you seen Argo's horrible attempts?

I suspect the team knows they blow at bunting. How many squeeze plays occur in MLB? Bunting is a lost art throughout the league.

No clue who Argo is but all of that sounds like a reason to...idk...practice bunting.

Agreed. Someone like Argo (VS2 's rap name) should master that...

But again, it's all across MLB.
