Army has one hell of history of providing key players to Stanley Cup champions. I call it the Army kiss.
(Pietrangelo, Barbashev, Mikola, etc, etc)
Next kiss GOES TO MONTREAL!
If Bolduc plays on the 2nd line with Demidov, Bolduc is going to light it up.
Would you rather have Bolduc or Holloway?
Could you afford to pay Bolduc 5 million a year after this season when Broberg and Holloway are due raises too?
Bolduc was a 3rd line wing on this team and he probably was gone after this season.
You NEVER talk about the future….you only complain about the present day. Your lack of being able to see the big picture is laughable. Follow another team. Anaheim drafts top 5 every year…be a duck fan. Everyone thinks your a whiny mother ducker on here anyway.

Amazing that players on our team that we can't make room for are the ones that make big contributions in Stanley Cup Finals a year later. Next up, Bolduc.
I talk about the future more than anyone on BluesTalk. I see that the Blues will be good, but they have no path to great. None. They are missing the top 5 talent in the TOP5 positions, and they have no path to acquiring that talent.
Our best players in the playoffs are now gone.
Out worst players in the playoffs are signed up for 6 more years.

The trade happened and we all hope it works out with Mailloux being a stud. That said you proposed a false dichotomy there. There's no reason they couldn't keep both Holloway and Bolduc. Cap is going up and there are other players who might get jettisoned before the team lets Holloway go don't you think.
Bolduc started very slow and picked up steam in the second half playing with a guy I love, Sunny, who should be a 4th liner not a 3C. Bolduc playing with a good 2C or even 1C may turn out to be a better all around player than Neighbours or Snuggerud. May being the operative word there because we don't know what he'll do in the future when given the opportunity with good linemates and right system. Time will tell and as I led off the post, I hope Mailloux is a stud because if he's a #2-3 level Dman on the right side, we probably win that trade unless Bolduc really explodes in his development.

Amazing that players on our team that we can't make room for are the ones that make big contributions in Stanley Cup Finals a year later. Next up, Bolduc. Petro chose to leave
Barbachev was not worth the 5 million that the Knights are paying him. And more importantly, Barby wanted to leave too. He wanted an opportunity to play more
Mikkola, he was traded to the Rangers who also let him walk. The Blues were tired of waiting for him to develop. Why is it that you are impatient with others to develop and only cry foul when someone moves on and finally finds his game?
I talk about the future more than anyone on BluesTalk. I see that the Blues will be good, but they have no path to great. None. They are missing the top 5 talent in the TOP5 positions, and they have no path to acquiring that talent. You want the Blues to tank and get top five picks. We get it. Must be easy for you to make that call when you aren’t paying the bills. Many teams in the league routinely pick in the top 5 and still stink.
Our best players in the playoffs are now gone. Again, why do you insist on living in the past? Move on. Players age and get older, slower, and more expensive. I’m shocked you haven’t figured that out yet.
Out worst players in the playoffs are signed up for 6 more years. What players are signed up for 6 more years? Thomas and Kyrou? Both would be easy to move..the entire league would be interested in each player. Parayko? You have an issue with him?
You choose weird hills to die on. Honestly, you look a little foolish in doing so.
The Panthers top 5 scorers in last years playoffs were acquired via trade. They draft NO ONE.
Your arguments hold no water.

Holloway and Broberg will add 10 million to next years payroll. You want to pay an additional 5 million for Bolduc?
Who gets moved to clear that money out? Keep in mind, I think Fowler will be extended for 2-3 more years. The Blues were deep on the wings and had an opportunity to get a young RH Defenseman…..which is the hardest thing to get in today’s NHL (along with a #1 center). If Bolduc scores 30 this year and Mailloux goes through expected growing pains this year but shows glimpses of high end potential….I do that deal every day of the week.

Objective analysis will be impossible after one year

I agree.
But the number of idiots on this forum that will wet themselves every time Bolduc scores is going to make for a long season because they will judge the trade by what happens this season. It’s dumb, it’s not fair to either of the players, but it’s the way this board thinks and reacts.
1) why he is doing better in MTL
2) why Army gave up such a promising young player
3) why his winger replacement is not doing as well
4) why Army made such a stupid trade.
Here on BluesTalk, the only thing to learn is that Army is great, and the Blues make all the right moves, every time

Nope.
Here is your big problem.
Here on Blues Talk we realize that great Truth," Ya can't win 'em all". And we see how stellar Army's Teams have performed compared to at least 25 to 30 other NHL GMs and we play with the hands we are dealt.
It has been great fun, most all of the time.
You can mope and (bleep) around about the hands you wanted to hold, that is your - miserable-choice.
You can deny that it is a miserable (and Trollish) choice) all you want.'

According to you, Blues are wrong every time

Snuggerud, Holloway, Buch, Kyrou are going to lite it up in STL so where does Bolduc fit? Would we rather have dealt Neighbours over Bolduc, not me. Fact is Bolduc wont be the only Blues prospect to be dealt because there isnt room for all of them.

But you would be lying and you know it, brother.
My big problem is that I want my city to have what every other NHL city has. I want elite-level stars to watch, and I am going to complain until I get that. Why should STL miss out on the Crosbys Ovechkins and McDavids?
People think I post to have fun. I post because I am pizzed as hell.
