Arenado's cost is more than his salary. Don't forget the luxury tax. His trade list consists mostly of contenders with tax issues. Teams like the Dodgers would have to pay a 100% rate, doubling his cost.

Hi Shady. I'd rather they trade Burleson before his lack of conditioning leads to another late season collapse.
No doubt this is Shady...keep spreading the word!

Yeah, fat boy riding a hot streak and hitting a lot of soft singles. That'll end soon enough.

Make no mistake...Cards are rebuilding and any rebuild starts with youth. Winn, Scott, Herrera, Walker, Gorman, even Burly. With JW coming back sooner rather than later, this team has to give regular playing time to both Walker & Gorman....and that is so much easier with the 34 year-old and obviously declining Nado gone.

Why not talk to the Cubs? They are in desperate need of a third baseman and currently have nothing. Nado is still great defensively and may just see a resurgence playing in the friendly confines of Wrigley. And realistically, we're not catching the Cubbies this season anyway, so why not?

I don't know...it'll never happen...but it would behoove Mo & the Cardinals to do whatever is necessary to move Nado. Yes, he has a no trade...but...I'm sure he'd like a legit shot at a ring. Not happening here I don't think.
Buy why isn't anybody addressing that Nado has been screwing over the Cards over every trade offer? Even to good teams? I hate him. but you're still getting the money, so there axxhole

The youth aren’t better. Weve seen that with guys like vilade in the lineup. And We aren’t getting top 10 prospects in return.

We are winning as much as we have because of vets like Gray, Willson, Nado’s defense etc. not in spite of them.

Whatever you say Marshall! That catcher is now the starting first baseman and is on pace for a 100 RBI season.

You see...unlike your boy, Burly, Contreras can actually run and hit more than just singles!

If management truly want to get Gorman in the lineup but cannot trade Nado, then they should release him and eat the remainder of his contract.

True. But this isn't the first guy that caused a dilemma. Guys like Nado come with the good years, and the declining years. Other teams are not excited about getting the declining years if they have to pay his whole salary. But if they released him then the other team doesn't have to pay much for his services and he would have more than one suitor.

Super Slo Mo had N/A traded twice.
The first time, N/A refused to go to Houston.
The second time, when Mo wisely declined the Yankees offer of Stroman in return, The Yankees made a different offer and DeWitt refused to eat what I believe was around 15M for the Yankees to simply take N/A off STL's hands.
In other words, there were at least 2 known matches last offseason.
Should be even easier now.
Two reasons.
One, as others have noted, N/A is only owed an average of 15.5M the next 2 years and there will be only about 8M remaining for this season at the deadline.
Two, N/A's defense has improved compared to the prior 2 seasons and his bat has stabilized at last year's level without further decline - which gives other teams a bit more certainty as to what they would be acquiring.
Now, it would certainly be helpful if N/A could hit reasonably well over the next 30 days.
But if he simply plays as he has so far this year, a trade should be quite simple to accommodate - albeit with very limited return.
Now, there is one, shall we say, wildcard.
N/A claims to want to win a WS ring - or at least have a shot at one in the postseason - before he hangs up his cleats.
But, that clearly is not really true.
What N/A really wants is to be comfortable, to be at ease, to be free from scrutiny - while teammates carry the load of expectations and leadership.
And that just might compel him to stay right where he is at.
Easy.
Obvious.
Correct.
Still waiting for an answer Sideshow.
LMAO.....your act never fails to deliver laughs!
Easy
Obvious
Correct

I've seen enough popups from Arenado.

Trading him opens up runway for Gorman and Walker getting everyday at bats

That's what this season is about.

2026 and beyond

No doubt NA is aware of Goldy's baseball rejuvenation. Sell him on it also could be him who is rejuvenated - all he has to do is get away from Mo RAN and the pretend manager.

Nobody is trading for Arenado in June. Probably not in July. If anyone is dealt at the deadline, it'll be a pitcher. Fedde, Helsley, Maton, Helsley, Gray & Mikolas (if they drop NTC), are most likely. Any position player is probably an add-in to a deal.

Craziness! If you can get a good return for Arenado, of course you trade him, but the presumption that he can be replaced by Gorman is absurd. Gorman has been given opportunities and continues to be what he is-- big potential with some power, but very poor average and questionable glove. Wetherholt? Maybe, but there is no reason to give Arenado away.
