It's crazy to think that he is 5'8" (or even 5'10") and produces that kind of power. His legs must be some kind of strong!

The 18-year-old backstop continues to show at least plus power with six homers through his first 12 games in the Florida Complex League, most among Rookie-ball hitters. His .944 SLG and 1.475 OPS also rank second at the level in this early juncture. Already considered advanced, Rodriguez is slugging even ahead of schedule.

He's a catcher
Does this kid look 18 to you?
He's got that Dominican Republic birth certificate. :D

You think a little name calling is gonna get me down? It's gonna take a hell of a lot more than that, to prove you're better than me!
Now--I say he was born in the Dominican, because it says so here, lest this is the wrong Rainiel.

lucky 7

there's no reason not to promote him once the short FCL season ends in July. I'd promote him before that.

Yogi was also 5'8"--and I've seen one baseball site list his height at 5'7".
Altuve is listed everywhere I've seen as 5'6".

And Ivan Rodriguez was listed at 5’9” 205

But I will say they were exceptions to the rule. Of the top 10 in catchers in games played, 7 of them were 6’0” or taller and 2 more (Yadi and Brad Ausmus) were 5’11”. Ivan was the only one 5’10” or shorter.
