I'll answer your question if you answer how many guys picked #18 and above in the first round have become stars since 2000? Cause that's where the Cards picked every year except 2008.

The 2008 exception was Brett Wallace at #13, who yes was an unfortunate miss. He also happened to be coveted by a good drafting/scouting team in the A's and brought back Matt Holliday in trade, so I don't think you can uniquely blame the Cards for missing on him.
I find it strange how in Football that isn't the case.
Yet in Baseball it is.
Also, does that happen in other sports?
Like the NBA or NHL?
