Cards have won 6 of last 7 series, with the seventh series being a four game split with the Reds.

Since April 25. After the Atlanta loss.

Lineup

1. Lars Nootbaar (L) ~ RF
2. Masyn Winn (R) ~ SS
3. Brendan Donovan (L) ~ 2B
4. Nolan Arenado (R) ~ 3B
5. Willson Contreras (R) ~ 1B
6. Ivan Herrera (R) ~ DH
7. Alec Burleson (L) ~ LF
8. Yohel Pozo (R) ~ C
9. Victor Scott II (L) ~ CF

LHP Matthew Liberatore (3-3, 3.11 ERA)
So, Walker drives in the winning run and then sits? How many at bats has Gorman gotten in the last 10 days?
Is that all you got to complain about?

All this talk Oli has learned? Dude just got a shot of momentum, and you cool him down/ huge strategy mistake. Never sit a hot hand.
or... you let him feel good about himself and confident.. that being said, I don't see Wacha as the type of pitcher (sweeping breaking balls) that would give Walker fits
I know you’re a ball player. You come to the clubhouse after hat game on a high. Game face city. You can’t buy that level of natural intensity- focus.

And you sit. This is a product of timing- Oli had this lineup in mind several days ago, but suddenly one of the pieces got hot. He failed to adjust his plan.
not sure Walker is 'hot' just because he ran into one last night. that being said, he IS making more contact, which is the 1st step

I'm not sure a manager that has what.. 12 wins out of the last 13?.. is the problem
Not the manager. His decision. Again for Walker, we must consider this hot. He is doing more with the bat. We must ride it, not cover it.

I think you ride the hot hand, hot being subjective.
Burleson is far more hot than walker and burleson has sat a few times lately. Need to get him back in. One homerun does not make a player hot. Players hit homeruns during. Kld streaks all the time. Additionally, sitting 1 gamenis not gonna ruin momentum. Its no different than if he hit onenthe day befkre cardinals had an off day.

It is a good thing that I was not taking a drink when I read that since Walker hit the big fly last night he is now "hot." Dang, such a low bar when you consider he is well below the Mendoza Line.

When Gorman and Burley are on the bench the cards are fine. There services are rarely required.

I like when they are used as backups to give other players breaks they seem th thrive in those roles.

I mentioned hot. I was referring to Walkers own standards. Him striking out numerous time a game . I thought that he’s now making some contact, even a home run, I’d consider that hot for him.

Minimal standards:

I would have hoped he would have started Walker Walker is riding high on the momentum of the game winning homerun but burly is hot you want to keep him hot and you definitely don’t want to DH him and sit Herrera so it’s not bad. If burly was hitting like he was early in the season then yea it would be dumb

It's why I suggested Gorman at third today, Burly at first, and Walker in RF. Give Contreras & Nado a day off while playing your young players.

Not a bad idea. Willy and Nado off the bench for pinch hitting or Nado as a defensive replacement.

They need to keep Gorman on the bench, he strikes out less there. If he would have been at second base yesterday we would have lost that game with his stumble bum fielding.
