109 is just a number. 100 pitches as a limit was arbitrarily drawn

Let the starters go for as long as theyre effective. They do have more rest between starts than they used to.

Great decision from Oli to let him ride it out. Maybe Oli's best of the year. Normally he's paint by numbers. It gives the clubhouse a charge to see that. And it boosts Fedde's value either here or in a trade.

A CG shutout is becoming almost as rare as a no-hitter. It's an accomplishment for guys today. Fedde was dealing, and the Mgr rewarded him by letting him close it.

Once he got in to the 8th inning with a huge lead, the Nats wanted off that field as much as the Cards did. Easy pickins from then on.

It was a low stress night for Fedde, six days rest too.

Thanks. If he was 12 or 13 I would say it was too many.

There are league limits on how many they can throw. His age is 95 (can’t start a batter after 95). I believe 12 year olds is 75 off memory.

Hope you are keeping informed about teen baseball players injuries .
Dr. James Andrews , renowned orthopedic surgeon , has seen an alarming number of 13, 14, 15, & 16 year olds in the past decade getting Tommy John surgeries . Overuse and also pitching year round without any off time recovery .
Might want to read this article and then pursue more info . It's a serious issue .

My son plays 8U and it’s a 50-pitch limit. But them pitching at that age at all is kind of stupid.

Thanks for posting. Way too much overuse on these kids nowadays. Especially with the elite traveling teams. Kids need time off from a sport. Multiple sports is better, still with some time off.
