I guess if a poster enjoys a 6 game win streak they’re a boot licking homer?
If they enjoy it? No.
If they think it excuses everything that’s happened the past few years? Yes.
What is the point of dwelling on the past few years? Why not experience a little unbridled joy as we watch serious young talent achieve mass and show promise for the future.
Not having expressed anger over some discouraging things that have happened doesn’t make one a boot licker all by itself. Taking problems with a grain of salt makes it easy for me to enjoy the positives popping up more openly.
I never thought things were as bad as some insisted. Still, I’m sure it was helpful for the discouraged to vent.
If a last-place finish and one playoff series win since 2015 “isn’t as bad as some insisted,” I have no idea what we’re talking about here.
Ignore a recent NL Central division crown
Spillborg on last night's broadcast said it best...he wished his favorite team has been as successful as the Cards have been
One division crown (and a sweep following that crown).
Lots to be proud of for the Yankees of the National League.
And that crown was over 2 years ago and gloating about it is much akin to a geek at the lunch table bragging to their geek friends about how they saw a boob, leaving out that it was their moms boob(or in this case, the NL central). Basically the only teams “jealous” of the Cardinals these days are the ones that most laugh at.

So you're [defecating] on the Yankees too? How bout the Dogturds? Is it just the last winner of the WS is the only reputable baseball team?
LMAO
The “Dogturds?” What are you, 8 years old?
One playoff series win in 10 years does not a relevant and reputable team make.

Comical how far the standards have dropped
Remember when we used to brag about winning pennants? Now you’re a troll if you don’t lose your mind over finishing just over .500 or go crazy over sweeping last-place teams.

That's just defensive talk. In '22 we won enough games to play at home to the Phillies who went to the WS. We had the MVP and #3 MVP on our team. We lost both playoff games to the Phillies in the 9th inning. One by a blown save. If you are ashamed of that then you have to be a glass half full kinda guy. Sorry that's how you see life.

Many years of making the playoffs. 2 WS in last 20 years.

It’s not that people are “ashamed” of it. It’s that the standard used to be a lot higher and that those season enders would be more of a disappointment rather than something that is still hyped up about 2 years later as some kind of magical run.
If you want to cream your pants over quick playoff exits good on you
If you wanna attempt to gaslight people into buying into your kinks also…..good on you
Just don’t get so mad when people still have the same standard for this team that was instilled in the TLR/Walt days before Mo came along and brainwashed many into believing that finishing above.500 is no different than winning a World Series……maybe even 2

We used to make fun of fanbases that got excited about that kind of success. Some of us still have standards. If you don’t that’s fine — plenty of Little Leagues out there.

Nice childish rant. The team won 17 games in a row in '21 and made the playoffs successive years. They failed to perform in the playoffs. No grounds for creaming in one's pants as you so annoyingly put it. We were good enough to beat a lot of teams just, not, to win in the playoffs. You would be in the gaslighting department, not me, trying to make this out to be failure because it didn't meet your standards. I watched the Cardinals in the 50's, 70's and 90's. I know disappointment and I didn't need to cry in my beer. It's major league baseball; sometimes other teams are better. Sometimes the postseason hits you with injuries and you aren't 100%.
You don't know what a standard is. You win it all or you cry in your hanky. Then you waste people's time on CT. If you are miserable everybody else needs to be as well. Sorry. Doesn't work that way.

Nobody lives with wins and losses for their team more than I have. I marvel at your standards as if you have anything to do with actual wins/losses or WS championships. Where were you in the 70's and 90's. Without the Internet you probably just annoyed the people around you. Grow up. It's baseball. There is no crying.

Ah yes, “remember the 70s and 90s.” That’s on the apologists’ Top 10 list for sure.

And yet, some years ago Hugecardfan was saying the front office was doing things poor enough they needed to bring in someone from Milwaukee to do it or show them how to do it. Now this past off season the front office that has touted since TLR left the use of young talent admits it is way behind the league in doing it and behind in having the modern minor league facilities, and thus is also so broke it cant afford to improve minor league infrastructure and fully fund mlb team at the same time.... and yet, Hugecardfan will tell you when and when not it is ok to critique the front office and ownership. .....

I don't have a problem with criticizing the FO. I just don't think it's necessary to make it a full time occupation.
