Relax. Trade deadline is a ways off
The earlier you deal him, the better the return.
BINGO ! Mo should be on the phone, pronto. Ask for outfielder, Ryan Waldschmidt as part of the deal.
Strike while the irons hot and DBacks are in (possibly) panic mode about the back end of their pen'.
And they are in a tough division. Their offense is really good. SP has been ok, but I would expect it to get better. Idk what they would be willing to give up though.

Yea the point of them in with the Giants dodgers and padres makes this an urgent mission.

Playoff caliber team who can't afford to let games slip away in the NLW while their best two closer options are out (who knows for how long either?).
I have no idea either, we need a DBack fan who knows about their system

DBacks sit 4th in a very deep, very tough division. Are they going to put up their 20th overall pick for a 4-5 month rental when their likely outcome is on the outside looking in.
No...well, maybe, yes????. Some owners are just wired that way. Some see the writing on wall.

Baseball America has really talked up OF Ryan Waldschmidt this month.
Jordan Lawlar is their top prospect and he’s blistering AAA. Not sure they’d deal him though even though he’s right now without a position in the MLB as they have Ketel Marte at 2B (although he’s hurt right now), Suarez has an .800 OPS at 3B (he’s gone after this year though), and Perdomo at SS (they just signed to an extension and really like). Plus Lawlar would be yet another 2B/3B/SS prospect.
The other one that might be more likely is OF Slade Caldwell. He’s farther off, as he was a 1st round pick last year out of HS. He is currently hitting .303/.521/.546 in A ball. The plus: 24 walks in 96 PAs with 8 2B, 1 3B, 2 HRs. The minus: 29 K’s in 96 PAs.
Their top 10 on MLB is pretty much all middle infielders and OFers.

They are 4th, but Baseball reference has them as the best odds to win the WS in the division, surprisingly higher than even the Dodgers.
The Diamondbacks are probably the second most talented team in the division behind LA IMO and I’d probably put them at 2nd or 3rd most talented team in the NL, especially if they were to add a Helsley and solidify their pitching staff. Plus it would make their back end even stronger once they got Puk and Martinez back later this season. They have a great offense and a starting rotation that should be very good with Burnes, Gallen, Pfaadt (having a breakout year), plus vets like Eduardo Rodriguez and Merrill Kelly.

C'mon Future, can you imagine the mayhem with us CT posters trying to spell Waldschmidt? Don't they have a decent Smith or Jones?

I still don't think they'll part with Waldschmidt... but who knows?

Mo needs to do something while the opportunity has presented itself. He needs to come away with two really good prospects comparable to when he obtained Saggese and Roby, minimum.

I agree if this organization can trade anyone that would bring better value for the future do it. And this one makes sense if Mo could do it. But I personally think Mo is mad he is being pushed out (and he is as they are allowing him to graciously act like it's his choice) so I honestly think he could care less about this year and doing anything to help Bloom for the future. And yes, I think he is that petty and bitter as he has always felt he should have been treated better by the media and fans even though he has been useless.

Does Arizona have the money to re-sign him at the end of the season? If not the draft pick for qualified free agent would probably be more than we would get from AZ.

Given Gallen is a FA after this year, they might see this as their best chance to win a WS. It also might be another reason trading for another pending FA might not be the best move.

How many CL are there out there who could be available?
AZ having gone through an injury bug might want it to play out a bit.
It's risky for them as they're not alone in needing BP arms.
June would still be considered early.

Makes little sense for them to make a move like that, now.
I think they're going to let Shelby Miller take a rip at it, and he's been fantastic early in the season. That works two-fold for them... he's their guy now, and if they are out of the race this summer, they can SELL him as a closer / high-leverage arm to a bullpen needy contender.

We can also see it as a plus in not being on the hook except for the $4-$6 million for a
playoff run. They'd be after Gallen way before Hels.
