1. Scott & Winn are exciting players who bring speed, defense, hitting, and enthusiasm to the table!

2. Burleson & Baker really don't belong on a decent MLB roster.

3. Libby can pitch! Who was our last decent Lefty starter?

4. Walker has made tremendous strides in the OF while still struggling to hit with consistency.

5. Our bullpen is not a team strength.

6. A healthy Noot is one helluva ballplayer.

7. Pages & Pozo are a decent catching tandem.

8. Herrera's bat plays...his arm behind the plate does not.

9. Saggese is a legit hitting prospect; still unsure where he may fit in defensively.

10. Oli is still a clown.

11. Gorman is now more suspect than prospect.

Feel free to add to the list....or to disagree (I can take it).
Good summary. I’ve got Walkers as suspect also. He has to hit and with power

I see his EV’s as awesome. But many hit into the ground. Just think at those ev’s how many doubles or triples he’d have. He doesn’t need to hit home runs they will come from putting a good swing on a double.

Good list MDT, agree w/every point you made!

12. Noot & Donovan need to be given extensions that buys out their remaining ARB years plus at least their first two years of free agency

13. Leahy has become a quality, back of the pen' reliever

14. Brown has made an impact on this team as the new hitting coach

15. The Cardinals still don't know how to use the DH spot (hopefully they install Hererra upon his return and just leave him there)

16. We're now 31 games closer to Mo being gone!

Scott and Winn are keepers

The rest are suspects

The back of the bullpen is below MLB level. The lack of depth in pitching, especially in the relief corps is concerning. Also, Cards need Herrera's power bat back . Ivan should be either catching or at DH in every game. It won't be long that the Cardinals will need to make room in the lineup for Saggese.

1. Scott, Winn, and Nootbaar can play.
2. Arenado has been better than I anticipated.
3. Contreras and Burleson have disappointed.
4. Starting pitching gas been pretty decent.
5. Helsley has been too shaky.
6. Fernandez, Romero, and Roycroft have sucked (donkey).
7. Mo, his strategist, and oli still cannot make a sensible lineup.

8. Oli is still a doless pud.
9. Mo's role should be limited to clearing out his office.

We need bullpen help. Where's Robertson? This is a winnable weak division.

We're about a fifth of the way done with the season, and the Cardinals have 2 players on track to hit at least 20 home runs.

And Arenado is proving once again he is not a cleanup guy anymore. He's on track for about 15 HRs and 65 RBIs. And that .745 OPS sucks but ranks 3rd among the current starters. So I guess he's going to have to produce at cleanup because there is nobody else.

And as for the pitching, the bullpen is looking much closer to the bullpen of 2023 and much less like 2024's. Fedde and Mikolas look like the weak links in the rotation.

Re: April in the books, What have we learned? Improves, this team

I’ll limit this to moves that the club should pursue this season

I doubt they can add a quality bat to the lineup. But they may be able to improve by subtraction - include 1 or 2 of Gorman, Burleson, or baker in a deal for bullpen help.

The starters have impressed me, but I’d like to see McGreevy, Matthew’s (when healthy) up here sooner rather than later. Give them the experience so they can take off in 2026.

If the bp improves, this team could approach a .500 level; if not, .400 is more likely.

The whole offseason, rock was like “Herrera is the starting catcher, hands down. Pages is garbage.”

One month into the season: “I hope Herrera is full time DH!”
