So, the PAIRING which has been the case SHOULD have three shots in two games but has FOUR. Boy, that Broberg kid, he REALLY needs to pick up his game! Utter garbage, an agenda looking for airtime. A ridiculous agenda.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 11:51 amFaulk and Broberg have been very responsible. Faulk had one cough up yesterday when he tried to outpuck handle in his own end. Faulk had a couple threatening shots too. I'd like to see Broberg get a little more aggressive in the offensive zone. But he has been a little bit weary of that for some reason unless he gets the break out. A quick factual stat that's meaningful. Broberg averaged 1.4 shots per game during the regular season and has 0. Faulk averaged 1.5 and has 4 total shots so 2 per game. If Broberg got a bit more offensive he would be doing above and beyond what he needs to.
Anyone disappointed in Broberg thus far?

He played 10 games last year with Edm +8 over 15 minutes and sure looked a lot better. Attacked more skated all over the ice my guess is Faulk is a boat anchor and Broberg like the rest of the team is completely under siege

You call 24-year-olds kids in your world?DawgDad wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 11:58 amSo, the PAIRING which has been the case SHOULD have three shots in two games but has FOUR. Again, you're picking on two players now WHO ARE NOT THE REASON THEY ARE DOWN 2-0. Where is common sense?Harry S Deals wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 12:01 pm He played 10 games last year with Edm +8 over 15 minutes and sure looked a lot better. YOU WANNA GUESS WHO THE OTHER PLAYER WITH A POSITIVE +/- IS?
Your statement re: Faulk and boat anchor is simply not supported by the facts. Facts, facts, facts. Those inconvenient things that get in the way of agendas and presumptions.

24 and younger in the NHL I would go with "kid" and be ok with it
lol when you're more than twice the age, yes.

It’s often used to dismiss … and give a pass to. It’s not helpful for assessmentseattleblue wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 12:10 pm 24 and younger in the NHL I would go with "kid" and be ok with it

Re: Anyone disappointed in Broberg thus far?
For a young guy that we stole off another team's roster, I'm very happy with what we got. I wish that he was more of an elite talent that raises the game of everyone around him, a player more befitting of Round 1 draft pick, but he's extremely solid. He definitely doesn't hurt the team in any way.
Watching Winnipeg, however, the makeup of our defense looks lacking. Where is our Logan Stanley, the guy that shakes the bones of the other team's best players? GIven that Broberg was costly, I wish that he brought that element to the ice.

He hasn’t shined but also not disappointed. But I also have more modest expectations for him than I feel some do.
Agree that he is a bit soft. But tbh, most of this younger generation is. Super gritty players are just super hard to come by these days.
That said, Broberg isn’t as green as some of the other youngsters. This is his 4th year playing NHL playoff games and he’s now played in 22 of them, same amount as Buchy, one less than Kyrou.
Agree that why they’re losing this series isn’t the defense though. It’s lack of offense. The Blues just don’t have the depth to make up for the loss of Holloway.

No. I'm emphasizing the nonsense of your posts. Helpful? What exactly is this thread "helping"? It's a blog! None of us can "help" anything about this series.
In terms of understanding what is happening, are you "helping" when I have to point out that you're questioning the play of one of the best players on the ice at even strength?

We have some of the most bi-polar trolls in the NHL. They went from loathing the team and Army all season to hopping on the bandwagon and now that the young Blues have lost the straw that stirs the drink and are losing to the best team of the regular season, here we go again. lolDawgDad wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 12:28 pmNo. I'm emphasizing the nonsense of your posts. A buddy of mine made a good point. We also need to upgrade the bottom 6, right now they’re never in danger of putting the puck in the net. Yes, you need energy and D from them also but they do need to be able to find the net with a mapSTL fan in MN wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 12:20 pm He hasn’t shined but also not disappointed. Fear not old friend. If the Blues do not win the Cup, they will jump off the wagon and revert back to their old ways. It is more certain than the sunrise in the east.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 12:32 pmWe have some of the most bi-polar trolls in the NHL. Yes, I'd say you are right. It's all there in the direction and tone of the subject line. I'm done with it, I posted simple accessible facts to support my "No" response and some rebuttal. Some of the off topic discussion in here IS thoughtful.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 12:32 pmWe have some of the most bi-polar trolls in the NHL. Yep. It’s almost as if this is a roster that would be pretty typical of an 8th seeded team.netboy65 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 12:33 pmA buddy of mine made a good point. I mean, what was our 4th line the Cup season? Barbashev-Sunny-Steen? We still have Sunny but he’s a shell of his 2019 self. Steen was a 1st liner most of his career and on our 4th line then because Father Time and injuries were catching up to him. But he was still an extreme luxury to put on your 4th line. Barbs was above 4th line grade at the time as well and has of course progressed even more in the years since.
