Herrera is especially easy to root for. I'm not a fan of his defense--and I hope he's next in line at first base when Contreras' deal is up...or maybe he can DH--but there's no denying that Herrera comes to PLAY and give his team the best shot he can to win. Whereever he ends up, the kid can flat out hit and has to get 575-600 PA's somewhere.
He does run very well for a catcher, I mean Dale Murphy did it in CF after switching from catching and he was a big dude like J. If G. Luzinski, D. Kingman, L. Smith etal can play LF, then I'd bet Hererra could too (but know it won't happen).
I'm curious to see what C. Bloom comes up w/for him to help w/the throwing.
I'm hearing he's working on throwing from his knee's (ala B. Santiago).
