Maybe if Mase didn't suck all year, we wouldn't be in this position.
I’m assuming you’ve never played team sports….
I played baseball in college on a full ride. Masyn has not been great....what does that have to do with anything?
How many seasons would you be agreeable to lose……and in this case with this season, winning and being told no support to continue winning is coming and teammates will be traded. You’d be just fine with that, as a player?
They are being PAID to perform to the best of their ability….

If a player quits the club will no doubt notice and hopefully dump them…
And fans expect their owners to perform…..not gut 80mil from payroll and use some perpetual rebuild narrative as an excuse not to spend
My God you are tiresome.

EVERY player in MLB knows their team is likely looking to make moves this time of the year and aren't pouting about it.
If you’re a player do you want the team to add talent to help win the remainder of season or trade the players who have been instrumental in winning.
This attitude that Cards players on this current are just fine going through the motions for 2-3 more years when the magical time comes when BDW might start spending money and Bloom Farm might start fielding Allstars on the MLB team is ridiculous. What does that plan do for the players currently on the field who were keeping the club in contention? NOTHING
No one thinks the rebuild will be 3-4 years.
Who in this current org is going to be a difference maker next season?? I’m really trying to hard to connect these dots…..but there are huge gaps with no legit explanation of how they get filled? You talk about drafting and trading for very young prospects. How long do you think it takes for them evolve into productive MLB players?? Is the CF just drafted in 1st round going to be playing in STL next season?

What about your hero Joshua Baez? Already given up on him?

And Bernal and Rainiel Rodriguez are on the doorstep

Quinn Mathews should be up after the deadline if not before. He has good potential to help.

Plus we’ll see how everything looks after the deadline.

He's not wrong though. The plan from day one was to lose. That the team achieved higher achievements is almost shocking. They gutted this team and the plan is to keep gutting it. It would not surprise me at all to see them trade Winn or Walker.
The plan was never to lose you’re making that up
So if you don’t plan to win……let the world know that players who have been instrumental in winning will be traded……no supplementation of talent will be added…..and the “plan” is winning some date years away…..what exactly are you doing??? The only outcome other than WINNING is LOSING
Where did they say they were trading them? Where did they say they wouldn’t add talent? All I read is they they wouldn’t sacrifice long term success that doesn’t mean they are selling you’re all making things up
So you believe Bloom won’t trade starters at this years trade deadline? And that one of those starters must be spending too much time on CT and has been brainwashed for telling a reporter such nonsense…..
Well now they are certainly going to sell the players didn’t really leave them much of a choice lol bloom would be an idiot to not sell at this point the players made sure they would sell by sucking

Disagree with what?? The OP was a Winn quote. Did I make it up? Did the Winn quote convey happiness and overflowing satisfaction with the state of the club? Or are you one of those that just can’t quite understand what Winn was saying??

Some weird takes but this isn't unusual at all. Literally this is how the majority of rebuilds work. Winn is just being honest about what the G.M has been very transparent about. When you start over you likely aren't going to have a roster that everyone fits into. Of course it's frustrating for everyone involved but it is what it is.

That’s a stupid argument. If they don’t like to lose play better lol that’s not hard to figure out they did it to themselves with awful play and you made it quite clear with your statements you aren’t a competitor you are weak willed and would only play hard if everything is going right and will fold under the slightest adversity you made it very clear in your comments. You’ve got loser mentality

He’s always going to cry and whine no matter what
Great bring em up…..does that put team over the top next year. EC says no way this takes 3-4 years. Is next year the year??
Next year will be the year you cry and whine no matter what happens just like every year
Oz…if that’s all you got then save your keystrokes…..apparently Winn was crying and whining too….perhaps we don’t like to lose…..and you do
Last night Burly was caught by the camera after his flyout saying “(bleep) this place man”. Is he crying and whining too??
Do you enjoy enjoy getting swept by Cubbies??? That’s being a loser.
So you believe Bloom would’ve added talent at break if still leading WC ?

The days of 3 million fans and being able to outspend Cincy,Pittsburgh and Milwaukee are over. Ownership sees it and made the move to Bloom with orders to cut the payroll and sell the fans on a brighter future. Accept it or move on.
Excellent post.
