and it wasn't a very good bunt. In order for it to work the 3B has to commit to fielding it....didn't go far enough...most runners are dead at 3B by that bunt

With a force out at every base, a very slow runner on 2B, and the other team well aware of the bunt possibility, the bunt needed to be perfect. Very low probability of success.

AND even if he succeeded, Nootbar could hit into a GIDP and the Cards fail to score anyway.

Why give away the remote possibility that Winn could actually get a hit, BB, or HBP?
