Nonsense. MU lost the game. Did Bert Cowan signing a contract impact the game in any way, shape or form? Winning a national championship on a technicality is not the same as winning it on the field. No True Son would accept anything they did not earn. This is an embarrassment.

Re: It’s official….National Champs!
Notre Dame refused to play any bowl games between 1925-1968, over 40 years they refused to play any post season games, yet continued to claim national championships, including the 1943 season where they lost the last game of the season to Navy, refused to play a bowl game, and again claimed national champs.
Every Notre Dame football fan brags about all the championships they have won, that should be an embarrassment.
1960 Mizzou beat #4 Navy in the Orange Bowl, and was named National Champs by the polling system.
Nothing embarrassing about acknowledging that.

Take a look at the other teams that claim the 1960 title. Mizzou's is objectively the strongest claim.Red7 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2026 22:51 pm Nonsense. MU lost the game.
