A discussion about the rebuild.
Finally, somebody dares to review Army's "rebuild" that started in 2023. I was beginning to think that it was only I that wanted to talk about it.

My grade would be D.
2023 was supposed to be the draft to bring in the new core, and this offseason, Army pushed all 3 Round 2023 1st Rd draft picks down the depth chart for 5 years. That means that we accomplished nothing in the 2023 draft.
And Barbashev was a disaster.

Why don't you find a new team to root for since the Blues are so bad in your eyes? Most people remove things from their lives that cause them so much grief! Please try this starting yesterday!!a smell of green grass wrote: ↑17 Aug 2026 17:20 pm Finally, somebody dares to review Army's "rebuild" that started in 2023. I just had some homemade chicken pot pie.
It's an underrated classic!

My mother in law makes the most fantastic chicken and dumplings. I didn’t even know I liked chicken and dumplings until I had hers. The dumplings are almost like biscuits…thicker than what would be the norm. But so good.

Re: A discussion about the rebuild.
We have a tavern chain down here in the Atlanta metro area (I have no idea what regions they serve) called Marlows. Marlows Tavern. Wife and I really enjoy it because their food is steps above mainstream bar and grill food, the drinks are good with some quality creative cocktail options, the atmosphere is very comfortable for old people, and they have a rewards program for frequent guests. I mean, you haven't lived until you get a Marlows shirt, or salt and pepper shakers.
Tonight I went for my go-to: Bistro steak (medium rare), sauce au poivre, with herb roasted broccoli/baby carrots/creamer potatoes and a side order of blackened shrimp. The perfect meal, scrumptious and not overkill on price or quantity or pretentiousness. Filet is an option for the steak, and one might opt for a side of their flaky salmon in lieu of shrimp. Great burgers and sandwiches there, and the best wings I've ever had (and I've had a lot). Happy Hour Old Fashioned for $4, Pinot Noir for the frau.
I typically do not order a steak when I go out to eat unless I'm on the road because I can cook one better! Marlows is the exception.

My mom made them this way. Hands down my favorite meal, and I would do anything to sit down at the table for them one more time.Backesdraft wrote: ↑17 Aug 2026 18:23 pmMy mother in law makes the most fantastic chicken and dumplings. Yum! Wife makes pot pie in her meal rotation. I had a really good chicken pot pie at a Cheddar's Restaurant in Goodyear AZ (Phoenix) back in June.

For the record, I REJECT your premise. The proper grade is "Incomplete". What Army is doing with the 2023 draftees over the next five years is PURE speculation. You [for certain] don't get to declare what becomes of them.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑17 Aug 2026 17:20 pm Finally, somebody dares to review Army's "rebuild" that started in 2023. Barbashev was and is not a disaster. Dean face-planted, that's on him. Accountability where it belongs.

Army is responsible for the Barbashev trade for Dean. Army face-planted.DawgDad wrote: ↑17 Aug 2026 20:23 pmFor the record, I REJECT your premise. The proper grade is "Incomplete". Army is responsible for the loss of Pietrangelo. Army face-planted. Even Army refers to it as his biggest mistake.
3 years ago, if I would have told you in 2026 (3 years later) that the Round 1 draftees would be PUSHED DOWN THE ROSTER DEPTH CHART for 5 years, you would have recognized the failure. If I would have further told you that they would lose their roster spots to DISCARDS FROM MEDIOCRE TEAMS, you would have been horrified. However, 3 years later, you call it all "progress".

Army is responsible for the loss of Pietrangelo. Army face-planted. Even Army refers to it as his biggest mistake. That is a lie. Army NEVER said that. Army said that is his biggest regret, that is not the same thing. He obviously wished he could have worked something out but Petro shares blame in the whole fiasco. Bleeder, why do you always resort to lying to try and prove a point?

(The players the Blues received in trade pushed NO ONE down the depth. DVO will play 2C if and when he deserves it. MacTavish and McMichael can BOTH play wing. Did you not know this? Your argument is something that a casual fan would say. )
By the way, thank you so much for starting all of these food threads. They are awesome.
And to think, people say you bring nothing to the forum…..

Excellent choice. Marlows is one of the better tavern burgers in Atlanta for sure. And their menu keeps shifting so you can be fancy or just enjoy some pub food.DawgDad wrote: ↑17 Aug 2026 20:10 pm We have a tavern chain down here in the Atlanta metro area (I have no idea what regions they serve) called Marlows.
