MLB needs those parks. I loved the old ‘66-05 Busch and have many fond memories of it. I love that the new park went Retro-Classic. That said, I am a bit jealous of the Green Monster and the Wrigley Ivy. Such unique and distinguished features.
In my opinion, the uniqueness of MLB Stadiums is what makes them great! In some parks like Mile High, Pittsburgh, Busch, PacBell, the outfield scenery is the feature.
Compare that to arenas and NFL Stadiums, they’re almost indistinguishable from one another outside of field logos. Nothing feels reverent because it isn’t.
People will remember the Ballpark at Arlington because of the distinctive features and highlights of Albert Pujols’ 3-Homer Game in the World Series. I would bet many Hoosiers don’t recall where Indiana won the 2025 NCAA Championship Game.
I’m a Cardinal fan through and through, but Wrigley is one of my favorite places on earth when it’s cubs vs cards.
Makes you wish Comisky, Tiger, Shieb, Yankee and Ebbets were still around.
I would bet Comisky had more character than Guaranteed Rate Field ()
I’ll give the Mets some credit for incorporating design cues from Ebbets when they built Citi Field.
I feel like the loss of Tigers Stadium has made the Detroit Tigers very forgettable
Yeah I think a lot of White Sox fans wish they had a do over.
The Mets did a great job. Yeah, you can’t expect the Mets to take over Ebbets. Wasn’t their field.
I adored tiger stadium growing up in the ‘90s. Comerica Park has to be one of the biggest afterthoughts in baseball.
For newer fields, San Fran, Pit, NYM seem great. Milwaukee and Baltimore too.

Honestly I cannot believe that this was worthy of a story but believe it or not it was.Honestly I doudt anyone on this site cares if John Rooney does not like wrigley field.
Wrigley and Fenway should be plowed to the ground. MLB should require modern stadiums. They are both dumps.
Dumps are sometimes good. I cant imagine MLB without either landmark. I just dont want them to be the Cardinals home.
I understand the historical importance to some extent but if they can rebuild Yankee stadium they can rebuild these dumps. I know my opinion is not popular.
You’re misinformed.
These parks are beloved, and Wrigley has gone through extensive updates.
I makes me wish they invested in Sportsman’s park
Not misinformed. I know about supposed renovations. Spent a lot of money on and around Wrigley. Doesn’t make sense to me.
I have been lucky enough to see a handful of games at Wrigley and Fenway. If I had to choose, I would take Wrigley every time. Fenway has several seats with very poor sight lines, but both are an experience that everyone should take in, at least once.

Have you been to a game there lately?
I went last year and it freaking sucked. And I spent extensive time there in the 2000's and loved it.

Went to a couple at Wrigley and loved it. Parked in somebody's front yard close- they made a few bucks every game day. We sat down low and man you were right in on the action and could hear everything. Fun times. Went to one at old Comisky and don't remember much about it.
It would have been more unique to remodel Busch 2 since most of that bowl style are gone now.
I have never been to Wrigley field and don't want to go there! I hate that place because it's the home of the Cubs who I loathe! I feel a little better about it since Baez hit 3 homers yesterday!

What sucked about it?
What do you think sucks about it now that a guy like myself loved about it in 2003? It can't be that difficult to figure out.
