Ugh - Mirk out with foot injury

Devastating news came out yesterday that Mirk had to have foot surgery late last week. Some sort of injury happened in practice. The timetable isn't clear, I've read anywhere from 6-8 weeks to a few months. Biggest thing will be how the foot responds during rehab. The reports on Mirk in summer practices have been glowing. Said his body is better and he looked like a guy that would be in the running for first team AA. Hopefully the injury is just a couple months and he has time to rehab before the season starts.

could've been much worse but probably adds some time during the non-conf schedule where this team could struggle to gel and find their rhythm. I expected that to happen anyway replacing 2 starting guards and the heavyweights we're playing before conf play starts.

My way to early prediction, we start 2027 at maybe 9-4 and down to 20-ish in the AP poll. Then run the frikkin table in BigTen play to get a #1 seed.
