Can we put Walker back at cleanup yet?
The 2 thing isn’t working and it really wasn’t necessary.
Oli’s knee jerk reaction to Herrera struggling was to fudge with Walker? Silliness
You could drop Herrera to 5/6 and move Noot/Winn to 2 for a spell if you wanted to. But why f with Walker?

Because Marmol heard it was en vogue to hit yojr best hitters 2nd, so he just did the same. He has no clue. Dod the same thing with Goldy. Idiot!!!Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 21:52 pm The 2 thing isn’t working and it really wasn’t necessary.

Still at 2 today.
I honestly think Oli is just obstinate. He makes a move that doesn’t work, hears all the buzz to revert back, but desperately wants it to work just so he can come across as a guy who made the right move. Stubborn and ego driven

Maybe mgt wanted to take a bit of pressure off him. JW seems like the type of player, right now, who is putting alot of pressure on himself. One thing for sure, he will mature in time.

The move probably caused the reverse.
Leave him where he developed his comfort

I don't disagree. It's not making a difference. Just trying to understand mgt's thinking.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑02 Aug 2026 13:18 pmThe move probably caused the reverse.

He’s hitting .220 .256 .268 .524 in the 10 games since he was moved to 2nd. He was hitting .237 .310 .368 .678 in the 10 games before that. He hit .229 .283 .229 .512 in a 13 game stretch earlier this season. He hit .275 .293 .325 .618 in a 10 game stretch before that. And the was a 13 game stretch before that when he hit .216 .305 .255 .560. And of course there were the two years before that in which he was one of the worst players in the league.
I don’t think moving him to 2nd in the order is the cause of his struggles.

When has JW been lighting it up the past 2 months? Hasn't hit a HR since July 9th. Started June with a 909 OPS. Down to 831Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 21:52 pm The 2 thing isn’t working and it really wasn’t necessary.

Cards Talk doesn't like stats, they just want to blame Oli for anything and everything. Just save your time looking things up. I posted a whole string of stats that went ignored yesterday in between all of the crying about a lineup structure where all 9 guys can't hit.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑02 Aug 2026 13:40 pm He’s hitting .220 .256 .268 .524 in the 10 games since he was moved to 2nd. His June OBP and OPS were worse than his July OBP and OPS, but yeah, Card Talk just wants to cry about how Oli screwed him up over the last 10 gamesscoutyjones2 wrote: ↑02 Aug 2026 13:43 pmWhen has JW been lighting it up the past 2 months? If I don't blame world hunger and lack of clean drinking water on Oli, it somehow means I love the guy. This place is full of nut jobs.
Never blame they players, always blame the manager!

Well, it worked today in the top of the 9th.
Herrera hits into too many gidp's to be in the 2 spot. Yes, when his OB was around .400, it worked, but was that ever a sustainable clip for IH?
Anyway, IF Noot doesn't get traded, have him and Wetherholt in the top 2 spots, then Walker, then Burly and Herrera followed by Winn for your top 6 in the lineup.
