Mel is fun. Sometimes I like playing along with him. Sometimes I like playing straight man and seeing where he takes it. Often he has a take the piques my interest and I ask for follow-up. I get along with him and like him, and have fun watching people react to him. You poke and prod a little for fun. Some people seem to get really spun up over him and take him seriously, which is funny to me. I’ve no idea why he does what he does, other than to get a rise out of people. It’s not my thing, but as you say it’s all harmless, so what the heck?

Sadly....he is knowledgeable about the game and does have good takes.
I told him that I would enjoy discussing baseball with him(and I have on a few occasions) when he skips the nauseating self promotion.
