Last chance to sell high on Burleson, for a 3rd baseman preferably. See if IH can play 1B and flip him if he can’t. He’s not a catcher. I’m tired of hearing how deep we are at catcher, yet no one so far can actually catch.

They need to keep Leahy and Pallante. We need to solidify the rotation even if it’s the backend. McGreevy and those two make a really nice 3-5. Sign a good starter in the offseason and leave room for a young guy to break through next year. If there are a few breakthroughs, then flip one of the others next year.

May has to go because they can always put in a bid for him in the offseason, which is what they’d have to do anyway. Though they should aim higher in the free agent market than the injury prone May. Speaking of injury prone…Nootbaar should go too.

Extend Romero or trade him. I would say ROB too but we won’t get much. Other teams know he’s not a real closer. Stanek for sure, if anyone is dumb enough to take him.

ROB provides a lot as a late inning guy. The Cards would be better if they had 2 ROB even
with his control. He'll have value if moved.

May and the pitching I agree.

Herrera is a fluid situation. They do not have to do a thing with him and there is a current role for
him. The Cards just don't have a current #1 catcher that can do both O and D is the bigger issue.
Until they do he is a safety net. Bernal succeeds as a 100 game guy that they don't have to
pinch hit for at every important juncture of the game and Herrera can C 60 games and DH until
there's proof those prospects can play.

Almost anyone can be dealt, the return needs to be tangible and not all of them
be 4-5 years away.

Good points. I especially agree with your last statement. No more trades for Low A guys. We’re still building for the future but it’s not so distant now that we’ve had some guys taking the next steps. They’ll need help sooner than later.

Not alot of big trade pieces have been moved yet across the league. Once the first domino falls, assuming a ton of action will happen after.

Always amazes me that more deals aren't closed on Fri-Sat before the deadline. If I was a buyer, I'd want that guy asap.

I guess sellers are waiting for max return, and buyers holding out fir a desperate seller?

Liam Hicks of the Marlins is the only one I can see that's competing in the market. He is good hit but bad defensive catcher.

The Rockies have to be blown away to trade Hunter Goodman. It's not going to happen.
