That’s a shame. He was ranked our #2, #3, #2 prospect the three years previous to 2026.

And I was the only person on the planet who correctly advised in the fall of 2022 (and the years which followed) that the Cardinals should trade him.
Said he would never be an effective MLB starter.
Said he was simply too slight of build and stature to make it.
I was, of course, correct.
The trick is to be free of bias, free of agenda, and free of personal investment.
Simply follow available facts to the most like outcome.
That is why my accuracy rate now stands at 96.91%.
Hence will be 24 in a couple of weeks.
Still young enough for another team to take a chance on his as organizational filler.
Wish him well.
Perhaps he shows up as a middle inning relief pitcher and gets to make it to the show - even if only briefly.
My advice to everyone else?

He should have been moved to a reliever years ago, I said it then. That frame rarely holds up to starters innings. Others on here have said the same

You were far from the only one. Baseball discussions exist beyond this board. I knew from the second I saw him that frame is not a starters frame that can log any sort of inningsMelville wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 13:33 pmGood point.Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 12:49 pm That’s a shame. Keeping the possibility of him being traded in mind, I'm not sad about this move. Feel bad for the kid, but we've got better, healthier pitchers to give innings to. And that's saying a lot, cus AAA ain't exactly loaded with pitching at the moment. Probably worth keeping as AAA BP arm if he isn't claimed or traded until more pitching graduates to Memphis. But I'm fine if we lose him. Can't be too greedy about that 2020 draft, still made a killing on it.
