I have to agree with Pronger/MacInnis and Parayko/Bouwmeester. If you go back and watch Pronger his dominance is hard to imagine, just nothing like him today. And then you realize everything he did behind the play. Yeah..... Anyone and Pronger.

Well, in the would have been, could have been category, Scott Stevens and Jeff Brown probably would have become historic.

I seem to remember he was also paired with Rick Zombo a lot.

So I guess we’re just going to pretend like Lee Norwood and Curt Giles weren’t a thing? Shame.

That’s before my time. However, I’m not doubting you. Lee Norwood did not play very many games for the Blues. And the year that he played in 71 games, I did not see Curt Giles on the roster. Looks like Giles played a handful of games. In Lee Norwood’s later stent with the blues. OK now I am doubting you and I’m thinking that you’re just being funny. It took me a while to catch up.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that this pair would not be the best pair. Pronger MacInnis. Awesome. I was thinking Pietrangelo. But I can’t remember who his partner was. I don’t remember him having a consistent partner.

I watched maybe 10 games that season during Desert Shield/Storm in an MWR tent, usually in the morning after an Op... One of our SATCOM guys was also from the Lou (Chesterfield area) and would pipe in KPLR 11. The latter part of the season (after Kuwait was liberated) we watched the Boston game live (a 5 - 5 tie with Hull scoring a hat-trick) while knocking down O'Doull's (a cruel joke).

Just a great season and memories. And the pairing of the power of Stevens with the smoothing skating of Brown was great to watch.
