Hitting in Toronto is similar to hitting in Coors. Hope it jump starts the offense.

Maybe, but tonight won’t likely be the night it happens. Facing Dylan Cease. He has a 2.16 ERA with 111 K’s in 75 IP over his last 12 starts. Threw a 1 hit complete game shutout last outing against Boston. I think only Miz has a lower SLG% OPS against than him.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑31 Jul 2026 14:09 pm Hitting in Toronto is similar to hitting in Coors. Hope it jump starts the offense.

Agree but it seems like every time I think the cardinals have no chance against a pitcher they light them up and when I see a guy with a 5 or 6 ERA and think the cards will crush him they get shut down so I hope that trend continues and cease has an off night and gets blasted. Or better pull him from starting before the game because he’s been traded and they have to run a bullpen gameFuturegm2 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2026 14:12 pmMaybe, but tonight won’t likely be the night it happens. The start of a 6 game road trip vs the Jays and Yanks. How many do you think the Cards will win? I have one.

I like our pitching for the Blue Jays series at least with Leahy, Mathews, and McGreevy. Our hitting will be the key. And I don’t have a lot of faith in it right now.stlbirdlover wrote: ↑31 Jul 2026 14:25 pm The start of a 6 game road trip vs the Jays and Yanks. How many do you think the Cards will win? Oli just doesn't get it. Walker hitting 2nd is just idiotic.

Batting your best hitter second makes some sense if you have capable dangerous guys behind him. But this team does not.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑31 Jul 2026 15:59 pmNope. Hes a moron!JuanAgosto wrote: ↑31 Jul 2026 14:52 pm Oli just doesn't get it. Walker hitting 2nd is just idiotic.
I would actually put Lars (just looking for a walk) Nootbaar at leadoff. Then I'd put Wetherholt, Burleson, Walker and Hererra 2-5. Of course oli would have to deviate from his precious lefty righty insistence.
