I think it was a win win cards for a season and a half of good baseball from lackey and a comp pick and Kelly helped the Red Sox win a World Series

A. Craig was done after his foot injury in the 2013 WS. I was surprised Boston wanted him. Dumping that contract and getting an outstanding 2015 from Lackey on a discount was a great trade by Mo.

I didn’t know he hung around in the minors until 2018
He had a good year in 2018, surprised Padres didn’t give him a look

Hit 293, 854 OPS
14 HR

Boston waited to 2016 to make Joe Kelley a reliever. He had a nice run.

Needed Lackey for the post season run. He had a nice season in 2015.

The Cardinals return to making this kind of "buyer" deadline move by 2028.

I was so bummed by that injury. Craig look like he was going to have an awesome career before he get jacked up with the injury bug

Obviously a great trade given Craig’s sad decline.

It was such a bummer! He always hit before that, minors and majors.

A big part of 2011-2013, no doubt. We don't win a ring in '11 without him.
