Actually it’s Passan’s. He wrote that the only off limits are JJ and Walker and the Cardinals have been open minded. But looks like they’ve had some high asking prices for Herrera, so I’m sure the asking price for Burleson is also high.

Oh Adams quoting Passan. My bad. I hope they have high asking prices. Hard to negotiate UP. :D

I am OK with some serious shake up. So long as the returns are 2027-2028 ready not too deep into the future.

He's not ready now, but it's hard to ignore what Jack Gurevitch is doing in Peoria. (21 doubles, 23 HR's, .952 OPS this season) Who knows when he will be ready for St Louis, but he's on his way.

Everyone should be on the table other than Walker and Wetherholt. Not saying you trade low, but come up with your price, and if someone meets it pull the trigger.

The Cubs got PCA in the Javier Baez trade in his walk season.
The Nats got Trea Turner as the 3rd team in the Will Myers trade (with the Rays and Padres)
The Padres got Tatis Jr (maybe not looking as good now) for James Shields in a season he wasn't even pitching that well.
The Astros got Yordon Alvarez for a relief pitcher.

Those are all outliers of course, but if you acquire enough talent, hopefully you strike gold eventually. I like Burleson, but if we can get a big return, I'll drive him to the airport.
