I wouldn’t count on him being traded. Bloom won’t trade him for the nothingburger it would take right now. They still need to bring up Baez though. Noot and Church in CF

That wasn't a hard catch, guy!Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 19:45 pmLet’s play “what if” and the blame game.
Granted Noot made a mental error. We all agree on that.
But what if Walker was out there? He might not catch that ball.
One can argue that Noot saved a double and the run would have scored anyway. So he actually saved the run because the next guy up got hit and that would’ve scored the guy that just hit the pretend double.
Then JJ put him back on top two to one with the home run.
I could blame Pallante for walking the batter that eventually scored to tie again.
I could blame Soriano for giving up that run that tied the game.
I could blame numerous players for not hitting with runners and scoring position. The last I looked, they were one for nine. I don’t know what they ended up with.

Stop making excuses for the clown this organization has wasted 5 years on.
Game has been over for four hours and people are still talking about a play that happened in the fourth inning. There are many things that lost that game.
If you believe he’s an intelligent player you have not been paying attention.
And as far as other reasons for not liking him, how about the fact that he was given the LF starting role for 4 years and still hasn’t been able to hit 15 HR or drive in 50 runs in a season.
He gets hits when the game is already decided. He hunts for walks when the game is on the line.
He is an idiot on the basepaths too.
And like so many that Mozeliak loved, the longer he has played the worse he gets.
This organization has wasted 5 years on him.
Nootbaar needs to go. For what and to where no Cardinal fan should care.
It’s true that there were plenty of bad AB’s, bad pitching, etc that contributed to this loss.
But that does not excuse Nootbaar.

Re: Nootbaar last game at Busch was a beauty
You placed a hypothetical blame on a guy who was the DH today. You blamed a starting pitcher who had a great game. Not only did Lars cock up that play, but he had multiple opportunities with runners on base. He went 0-4 with 3 strikeouts and a piddly pop-up. He sucked. Stop making excuses just because you want Noot's bar.Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 20:04 pmI’m not making excuses for him. I admit he made a mistake. I saw Scott Rolen forget there was one out and not go for a double play that would have ended an inning. Instead a run scored. Then another. He owned it after the game. I have seen other very good players make a mental mistake throughout the years. Were they all clowns?

Always been a bit on the fence with him but he has been a tease.
Best to move on.
He’s ok as a platoon OF and does draw some walks but he is horrible with RISP.

Bob, I know you love the Cardinals and that you really don’t like criticism of the players, the manager, the coaches, the owners, etc.Bob Kunush wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 20:37 pm I saw Scott Rolen forget there was one out and not go for a double play that would have ended an inning. And that’s fine.
And if Lars Nootbaar was 1/10th the player that Scott Rosen was, maybe you’d have a point.
But he’s not so you don’t.
Scott Rolen’s baseball IQ was high. And if he made a mental error he owned it.
Lars Nootbaar’s baseball IQ is not high.
Lars Nootbaar is a FA after 2027. The Cardinals will not extend him and not even Nootbaar’s mother would give him a QO.
The Cardinals need to end the Nootbaar era and chalk it up to a 5-year waste.

That was a good reply. Unfortunately, it will not resonate with this bozo. He doesn't pay attention to much. "One of the most famous modern instances of this happening in Major League Baseball was when Chicago Cubs outfielder Milton Bradley caught a fly ball with one out in 2009, forgot the number of outs, and tossed the ball into the bleachers, allowing a costly run to score."
At least Noot didn't do that...if he HAD done that, Bregman would have been awarded 2 bases and scored anyhow. Don't think Noot would have been given an error in that situation... Strange baseball rules...

Exactly. If Weatherholt did it, it would not even be a discussion. So it’s not really the play that happened today it’s people’s dislike for Noot over all. I’m not a big fan of his. I’ve seen players and umpires lose track of the pitch count. So if you wanna point out other aspects of why you don’t like them like the previous poster did, that’s fine. If you think he sucks, he sucks.Bob Kunush wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 20:37 pm I saw Scott Rolen forget there was one out and not go for a double play that would have ended an inning. Instead a run scored. My hope is we can package Noot and May in a trade with the Dodgers for 1 of their glut of CF prospects. Noot could platoon with Teoscar Hernandez in LF while also further adding to the marketability of the Dodgers to the Japanese tv market, and the Dodgers will always be looking to accumulate pitching with plus stuff on expiring contracts for the postseason.

Re: Nootbaar last game at Busch was a beauty
I don't disagree about moving on from Nootbaar (although I can't imagine any team will make a great effort to get him from us). I am tired of watching him play and being sold to us as a player he never was and apparently never will be. And I really don't mind reasonable criticism of anybody but your words go beyond reasonable. They are personal and insulting and you act like Nootbaar is the only player who ever did anything stupid. And if Rolen is 10 times better than Nootbaar, then he should have never made such a dumb mistake. But no matter which one is better, both are human, and mistakes happen.Bomber1 wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 20:51 pmBob, I know you love the Cardinals and that you really don’t like criticism of the players, the manager, the coaches, the owners, etc.Bob Kunush wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 20:37 pm I saw Scott Rolen forget there was one out and not go for a double play that would have ended an inning. People mistake my comments as not allowing criticism of players or managers. That doesn't bother me. People who make emotionally unhinged or unreasonable comments towards players or managers is childish and it irks me. There is nothing stupid that any ballplayer or manager has ever done than hasn't been done before. We all get upset with players at times. Most of us can do it rationally.

The idiot wanted to excuse Nootbaar's mistake by throwing out scenarios that didn't happen. "What if Walker is out there and doesn't catch it?" Well, he wasn't out there, so making up a scenario where he was is stupid. That fool actually tried to argue that we should consider Nootbaar had SAVED a run. Uh....no, dipsh!t, he cost a run hot dogging after the catch. What a putz. Nobody is taking his nonsense seriously.Brockfast wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 22:13 pmI’m starting to like you.
