Granted Noot made a mental error. We all agree on that.
But what if Walker was out there? He might not catch that ball.
One can argue that Noot saved a double and the run would have scored anyway. So he actually saved the run because the next guy up got hit and that would’ve scored the guy that just hit the pretend double.

Then JJ put him back on top two to one with the home run.
I could blame Pallante for walking the batter that eventually scored to tie again.
I could blame Soriano for giving up that run that tied the game.
I could blame numerous players for not hitting with runners and scoring position. The last I looked, they were one for nine. I don’t know what they ended up with.

I’m not making excuses for him. I admit he made a mistake. I’ve seen the same mistakes from Hall of Famer. I’m realistic enough that one play, one mental error does not define a player. If there are other reasons, you don’t like him fine. But, that exact same scenario that happened today will happen again. Probably by better players.

Game has been over for four hours and people are still talking about a play that happened in the fourth inning. There are many things that lost that game.
